Ivy POV“Mr Maddox, I can explain,” my voice shook. “Those past positions did not play to my strengths. I assure you that I am more than capable of becoming your nanny. I am excellent with children.”He arched a brow at me, clearly not believing a word I said. "You shouldn't judge a book by its cover," I blurted out almost hysterically. God kill me now. At this rate, I might as well kneel and beg. Something told me he would not appreciate it. In fact, I suspected it would only further provoke him. “It says here that you spilled soup on a billionaire on your first day as a waitress.”I winced. “I tripped on my own two feet,” I admitted guiltily, “but the man was very understanding.”Thank god because his suit had cost more than I could ever earn in ten years. Silence. His look turned even more condemning. You would think he had never made a mistake in his entire life. I mean, come on, who doesn't have something in their past they would rather forget?“You were dismissed as a libr

Alpha Maddox POVI slammed into the rogue, sending him sprawling. I snarled, whipping him with my tail and sending him crashing into the nearest tree trunk. I was beyond merciful, my rage so violent that all I could see was red. This rogue had attacked my daughter and tried to kill her. He’d trespassed on my territory like he was welcome to.He had some nerve. This was my territory, and nobody touched my daughter and got away with it. He'd just signed his own death warrant. I wrestled the rogue to the ground and pinned it. Without hesitation, I clamped my jaws around his neck and snapped it.I listened to the violent crunching sound with deep satisfaction. The bastard was dead. I would have liked to have tortured him to death, but my focus was on Rosalie and making sure she was alright. I let the rogue drop lifelessly to the ground. My anger subsided as concern took over. I shifted and turned, picked up the hazardous Miss Hart off the ground, and set her aside before kneeling in fr

Maddox POV"Honestly, Maddox, don't you think that Rosalie needs more," Celeste, my fiancée, frowned, her voice filled with concern, "professional help? Or a different environment?" she pressed, her perfectly manicured fingernails tapping lightly on the dining table.Rosalie sat, her head bowed down, eating slowly, her expression blank as though she couldn't hear a word that Celeste was saying. "Celeste," I turned and kept my composure, "this isn't the time or place to have this discussion. Rosalie is sitting right here," I warned."I just think that getting yet another nanny who will simply walk away like all the others isn't the responsible thing to do," she protested, eyes wide with innocence. "I mean, let's face it, Maddox, what's going to make this woman, this Ivy," she sneered, "any different? You're just setting Rosalie up to have her heart broken again.""Ivy Hart saved Rosalie's life, Celeste. That alone earns her my respect.""Saving somebody's life does not automatically m

Maddox POV"Profits are up by sixty percent. The estimated value of Apex Communications is currently over a billion dollars."I nodded, barely listening to the meeting as my head of finance continued his presentation.I wonder what Rosalie is doing right now. I wonder if that clumsy nanny is taking proper care of her. My phone vibrated on the table. Johnathon fell silent.I glanced at the caller ID and frowned. Celeste. I had specifically informed her that I had a meeting and should not be disturbed unless it was an emergency. I let it go to voicemail and gestured for Johnathon to continue. He started again but barely got two words out before my phone buzzed again. I let out an irritated exhale. My executives glanced uneasily at one another. Nobody dared to comment. When the phone buzzed for a third time, I snatched it up."This meeting is adjourned. Johanthon, leave the report on my desk," I barked and stormed out of the room, angrily answering the call."Celeste, this better

Ivy POVI'd never seen such a subdued little girl when it came to shopping. She touched clothes with shaking hands, her eyes constantly looking to me for permission. I fought back my rising anger and instead kept a pleasant smile on my face, encouraging her to choose whatever style she liked."Rosalie, whatever you like. You don't need my approval, only your own. I don't care if you want to wear a bikini and slippers every day. You do you," I chirped. Her eyes filled with amusement. That was all the permission she needed. Her confidence grew. My arms grew covered in clothes. Soft shades of green, yellow, and blue. No signs of pink anywhere. Wise decision. She chose practical sneakers, ballet flats, and then some cowboy boots that looked utterly adorable on her. My arms were loaded. We had to stop by the car before we entered the last store. Rosalie floated through the aisles as I followed with a trolley. I suggested sage green bed linen, pointed to various cushions, and even a ru
