All Chapters of The Alpha Who Claimed the Wrong Omega{MM}: Chapter 11 - Chapter 20

Chapter 12The attack came at dusk.I was in the Alpha’s den when the first howl cut through the air—high, sharp, and wrong. Not a pack call. Not a warning between Blackthorn wolves. This one carried the ragged edge of aggression, and it was close.Riven was already moving before the second howl sounded. He crossed the den in three strides, grabbed the knife belt he kept near the door, and looked at me once.“Stay inside. Bar the door. Do not open it for anyone but me.”“What’s happening?”“Border breach.” His voice was flat, already shifting into the cold focus he used when something needed killing. “Rival scouts, maybe more. They’ve been testing us since the claim. Looks like they finally decided to push.”The bond between us surged with his tension. I felt the spike of protective fury as clearly as if it were my own. Before I could say anything else, he was gone—out the door and into the gathering dark, already calling orders in a voice that carried across the grounds.I barred the

Chapter 14The entire pack assembled before the sun had fully cleared the trees.I stood at Riven’s right side on the raised platform the elders normally used, the claim mark on my neck deliberately left uncovered. Riven had refused to let me wear anything that hid it. His hand rested at the small of my back—not gentle, not comforting, just there. A public reminder. The bond between us thrummed with cold focus. He was done with warnings.Hundreds of wolves filled the clearing. The injured from last night stood near the front, bandages still fresh. The rejected Omega’s family occupied a tight cluster to the left, faces carefully blank. Patrol leaders, dens mothers, fighters, and the quieter members who usually avoided pack politics all watched in heavy silence.Riven didn’t waste time.“Last night a rival group crossed our western border and reached the dens,” he said, voice carrying without effort. “They knew shift changes. They knew which lines were thin. They came with the specific

Chapter 16Night settled over Blackthorn like a held breath.I sat on the edge of the bed in the Alpha’s den with my knees drawn up, listening to the quiet. Two guards stood outside the door. Another pair walked the perimeter of the inner dens. Riven had gone out an hour ago to check the eastern line himself after the bloody message left with the dead sentry. The bond carried his focus in a low, constant hum—cold, sharp, and tightly controlled. Every so often it spiked with something darker when he found a new track or a broken branch that shouldn’t have been there.I hated how closely I was monitoring it.Sleep was impossible. Every small sound outside made my shoulders tighten. The memory of the rival wolf’s hand yanking me to the ground kept surfacing whether I wanted it to or not. Combined with the knowledge that they had already killed one of ours and left proof on purpose, the den felt less like safety and more like a temporary shelter in a storm that hadn’t passed.A soft knock

Chapter 18I felt the moment the ambush started through the bond.It hit like a sudden drop in pressure—Riven’s focus sharpening into pure, cold violence so intense that my hand tightened around the edge of the table before I even understood why. One second the connection between us was its usual low, controlled hum. The next it burned with the unmistakable edge of a fight.I was alone in the den.Two guards stood outside the door. Another pair walked the short perimeter of the inner grounds. Lanterns had been shuttered hours ago. The pack was under full night discipline: no unnecessary movement, no raised voices, no light that could carry. Riven had left at full dark with three handpicked teams to set the trap along the most likely approach the tracker had been scenting. He had made me promise to stay inside.I had agreed because the alternative was him assigning someone to physically bar the door. Now I sat on the edge of the bed in the dark, elbows on my knees, and tried to breathe

Chapter 20Riven hit the rival wolf like a landslide. There was no warning snarl, no wasted motion. One moment the foreign wolf was reaching for me again; the next Riven’s full weight drove him sideways into the den wall hard enough that the wood cracked. The impact was sickening and final. The rival tried to twist free, claws flashing, but Riven already had him by the throat and the injured arm I had stabbed. Bone snapped under the Alpha’s grip. The wolf’s scream cut short when Riven slammed him down and ended it with a single, efficient motion.Silence didn’t follow. The rest of the insertion team was still fighting across the inner grounds. My two guards were locked with another rival near the storage dens. A third foreign wolf broke off and tried to bolt for the outer tree line. He didn’t make it far. One of Riven’s returning fighters cut him off and took him down hard.I stayed on one knee, the small knife still clenched in my hand, blood—mine and not mine—slick on my fingers. My
