Chapter 1Alice“Another,” I yelled at the bar attendant, who quickly came and poured me another glass of whiskey, but it wasn't working fast enough. This was my fourth glass, I think. I wasn't really sure anymore but yet the pain in my chest ached even more.I downed another glass, the tears behind my eyes strong, but I held it back. I wasn't going to cry again, not after crying so hard in the Uber the driver refused me paying.I thought today was going to be different. I should have fucking known, but I was so stupid. I chose to have faith. My eyes scanned the bar. Everyone was drinking, chit-chatting, when I blinked and a tear escaped my eyes. I quickly cleaned it up.I didn't even need to ask. The bar attendant just started filling up my cup when I was almost done with my drink.I gestured for the bar attendant and she came quickly. “You are really pretty. Has anyone told you that tonight?”She smiled politely. “Thank you. No one has said that to me tonight.” Then she leaned in a

Chapter 3AliceI opened my eyes slowly. The light coming from the window was blinding. I looked over to the other side of the bed but Dean was already gone. Every part of my body ached, but the thought of last night only made me smile. It was so amazing and the fact that he was my first time made it even better.I got off the bed slowly. I looked around my room and there were no clothes on the ground, which was weird because I remembered him throwing every piece of clothing I had on to the ground.I got into my robe and went to the living room. Maybe he would be there. I wanted to see him again, but at the same time wouldn't it be weird? The living room was quiet. He was actually gone, but slowly my eyes landed on the kitchen table.I quickly walked there only to find a cup of coffee and some bacon and toast. Did he actually do this? It made me smile even harder. I sat down and as I ate I kept reminiscing about last night. Even if it was a one night stand, I didn't care. I would neve

Chapter 5DeanI couldn't get that night out of my head. Whenever I closed my eyes I saw Alice's beautiful body, how innocent she was and that she actually gave me her first time. I just couldn't stop thinking about her.“Are you listening to me?”Juliana's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.“Sorry, I was thinking about some stuff. What did you say?”“Dean, you've been like this for days. You don't pay attention to me whenever I speak. It's like your mind is somewhere else entirely.”“I am so sorry,” I said, stretching my hands over the table, taking hers in mine.“What were you saying?”“We have a lot of things to go through for the wedding and we have to start inviting other packs. It's just a lot and it's stressing me.”“You know that's why there are people who plan stuff like this, right? You do not have to be involved in every step.”“Of course I do,” she snapped. “This is my wedding to my dream man. I want everything to be perfect just like the both of us.”She called me her dr

Chapter 7Alice"You know that bitch has some nerve. I have to give it to her," Layla said as she paced restlessly. I was the one who got treated like trash, but she was angrier than I was."You should have slapped her so hard across the face that a tooth falls off.""Have you forgotten I am not that strong? She has a wolf; I don't," I replied in a weak and defeated voice. She stopped pacing and sat beside me on the couch."Are you okay?" she asked. Her voice wasn't filled with anger anymore; it was worry. I was trying so hard not to break down again, but all my attempts failed because tears started rushing down my cheeks again, and I couldn't stop it.Layla held me in her arms as I cried uncontrollably."It hurts so much," I said in between sobs. It felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest."I am so sorry," Layla said, her voice soft and gentle. Usually, just hearing her talk would soothe me, but this time around it didn't. I had felt horrible before, but the way I feel now

Chapter 9Dean"Keep drinking like that and you would die sooner than we all expected."I didn't turn to look at who it was. I already knew.I drowned another glass of whisky. This was my fourth or fifth. I wasn't sure anymore. I had asked the bar attendant not to let anyone in. I paid for the entire place.Oliver sat beside me and took the cup from my hand, drinking the whisky I had just poured myself."Delicious," he said when he dropped the cup."What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, annoyed."You called me, dumbass."I remembered calling him but I didn't actually expect him to show up."And you came.""Of course, cousin. You call, I come. That's how we are. So what's going on with you?"Oliver was actually the only person I could talk about whatever bullshit was going on in my life. He just gets me like no one else."I messed up, Oli. Big time.""Is that why you are drowning yourself in booze?"I let out a small laugh but there was no trace of humour in it. I pulled the glas
