Instead, I woke before dawn to Morgan kicking the side of my cot and throwing a wrinkled dress at my face. “Wear that,” she snapped. “And do not make us look bad.” The dress had once been hers, pale blue and pretty before she ruined it. A stain marked the skirt, and one sleeve hung loose where the seam had torn.
