Kate held her breath in sheer anticipation, her bright blueish eyes gleaning and licking her lower lip anxiously as she stared at Anne, the dressmaker flip cautiously through the pages of her most priced and cherished possession - her manuscript.Kate studied every reaction that Anne displayed while reading through her manuscript. Her heart was beating so fast and Kate felt extremely intense about what Anne's verdict will be. Anne was also a writer during her youth, an accomplished author who dreamed to become a published writer, but her dreams were shut off after her parents arranged a suitor for her. Anne had no choice but to give up on her dreams and become a housewife while also becoming one of the well-known dressmakers in the town of Westport County.Kate also had a similar dream - To become an astute writer not just across Westport but far and wide. But unlike Anne who had no support, Kate did have one support.“I'm very impressed, Kate. This is such a good story. The raw detai

Kate had looked away from Edmund a long time ago and was digging her gaze in her plate. Still, she felt Edmund's gaze still heated unto her skin. Her heart leaped and her chest grew heavy each second that passed by. “Well.... I'm sure Edmund will make us proud one day.” Charlotte forced a sincere smile on her face but her eyes clearly gave out mockery towards Edmund.Collin was disappointed. He didn't even want to look at Edmund's face. He didn't hate him but he also couldn't say he loved him as much as his other two children. Harry was on his way to becoming a famous and successful writer while Olivia was groomed by Charlotte into becoming a proper lady in society and securing a rich suitor for marriage.Meanwhile, Kate couldn't eat no matter how hard she tried. She just kept on stirring the soup with her spoon.“Is something wrong, Kate?” Harry had noticed that Kate was yet to touch her dinner.Kate blinked and cautiously raised her head to only look at Harry. “No, nothing's wrong.

Mr Collin threw a farewell party for Harry. He had sent invitations all over Westport County and even invited some important figures from abroad. The Monterrey mansion was decorated beautifully - the abundance of foliage, exotic fruits and fresh flowers were centerpieces used in both the interior and exterior, red velvet drapes covered the polished windows and ornate rugs were rolled out from the entrance, the tables were heavily adorned with exquisite china, cut crystal glasses, ornate silver and gold flatware, ample and soft lightings from the chandeliers, table lamps and candles placed in clusters. Guests were sauntering in with elegance, long trays carrying flute glasses were moving along quickly into the main Hall.In the garden, there were also different circular tables perfectly lined and arranged. Edmund lounged back on one of the chairs, both of his legs were crossed over the table, one of his arm was slung over the back of the chair as he casually brought the cigarette inb

The Victorian wall lamp shone brightly over his strong and sharp features. He brought the cigarette between his lips and lighted the other end of the tobacco stick. He took a drag and held the cigarette between his long fingers as he released smoke into the air. His nostrils were flaring and he was still angry, boiling inside with rage and affliction. And only one person was the cause of his affliction - that girl in a purple dress with a beautiful smile and angelic features. She drove him mad to the point that he couldn't take it. This love was draining all of him and it frustrated him to no end.She resided in his mind twenty-four-seven to no end. He couldn't think of anything else besides wanting for her to look at him, not with fear or with uncertainty, but with affection and care. He always craved for the day she would look at him differently for the first time. He knew he had absolutely nothing to offer her right now, but if she gave him a chance then he could bring down the mo

Kate slowly woke up, her hair a little out of sorts as she straightened herself up and realised she was in her bedroom. She remembered last night's beautiful experience. After she and Harry were done, they quickly wore back their clothes and laid next to each other on the cold floor in the storeroom, chatting away until she fell asleep in his arms. Harry must have carried her up to her bedroom. She thought. The birds chirped softly outside her window and Kate heard a knock on her door. She quickly came down and opened the door. A servant smiled at her as soon as Kate widened the distance of the door. “Kate, good morning. Mr Harry is urgently waiting for you downstairs, his train is leaving in a couple of minutes and he sent me to come call you downstairs.” the servant said urgently.Kate's eyes widened and she stared at the time on the old vintage wall clock above her bed. “I'll be right out in five, Mirna.” Kate replied and Mirna nodded with a smile before leaving.
