LOGINThree Months LaterShe smiled sweetly while humming a sweet melody to herself as she carried one of the baskets that was filled with fresh vegetables. It was the harvest season and all of the workers were busy on the farm gathering all of the new fruits and vegetables in time before the arrival of winter. Every year, Kate always volunteered in helping the workers gather all of the farm's produce into the new storage house. It was also her way of educating herself by learning about the farm and how the fruits and vegetables were planted and nurtured until the day they sprouted. Some were mostly sold out to the town folks during the winter season. Kate wished Mr Collin was here as well, as he was always on the farm during the harvest season to supervise the workers while also teaching her some new things about the farm and how it brought in lots of income to the family. But sadly he couldn't.It was then she remembered the tea she was brewing in the kitchen. She lightly slapped her fo
Kate slowly woke up, her hair a little out of sorts as she straightened herself up and realised she was in her bedroom. She remembered last night's beautiful experience. After she and Harry were done, they quickly wore back their clothes and laid next to each other on the cold floor in the storeroom, chatting away until she fell asleep in his arms. Harry must have carried her up to her bedroom. She thought. The birds chirped softly outside her window and Kate heard a knock on her door. She quickly came down and opened the door. A servant smiled at her as soon as Kate widened the distance of the door. “Kate, good morning. Mr Harry is urgently waiting for you downstairs, his train is leaving in a couple of minutes and he sent me to come call you downstairs.” the servant said urgently.Kate's eyes widened and she stared at the time on the old vintage wall clock above her bed. “I'll be right out in five, Mirna.” Kate replied and Mirna nodded with a smile before leaving. Kate walked up t
Harry and Kate danced the night away, their smiles were contagious and affected everyone present in the room. Kate's smile had returned back to her face as she touched Harry and Harry also touched her. His touch was warm and very protective. It was a shame he would leave early the next day and wouldn't return home until after two whole years. She was going to miss him so much.“Come with me, let's escape from here.” Harry whispered in her ear and Kate smiled. “But we can't leave just yet, Harry. The guests are still here and this party was thrown in your honor for your farewell.” Kate explained softly.“Oh come on, Kate.” Harry implored, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous aura. “Most of the guests are already intoxicated, plus they won't even realize we're gone.”Kate seemed hesitant. “Are you sure? What if your mother needs me for something, or Olivia needs my help with something....”“Enough now, Kate.” Harry stopped her from speaking further. “I've told you not to grovel in fro
The Victorian wall lamp shone brightly over his strong and sharp features. He brought the cigarette between his lips and lighted the other end of the tobacco stick. He took a drag and held the cigarette between his long fingers as he released smoke into the air. His nostrils were flaring and he was still angry, boiling inside with rage and affliction. And only one person was the cause of his affliction - that girl in a purple dress with a beautiful smile and angelic features. She drove him mad to the point that he couldn't take it. This love was draining all of him and it frustrated him to no end.She resided in his mind twenty-four-seven to no end. He couldn't think of anything else besides wanting for her to look at him, not with fear or with uncertainty, but with affection and care. He always craved for the day she would look at him differently for the first time. He knew he had absolutely nothing to offer her right now, but if she gave him a chance then he could bring down the mo
The moment Harry and Kate appeared on the stairs arm-in-arm, all eyes turned towards them. They looked like the ideal couple when they both looked into each other's eyes with love and admiration. “They look so perfect together.” A dutchess whispered to her husband.“Kate is so lucky to have gotten a gentleman like Harry Monterrey by her side.” Another lady of high rank whispered a taunt to her unmarried grown-up daughters.“Kate's beauty seems to be glowing even more when she's next to Harry.” Some ladies who formed a group giggled amongst themselves. At a corner in the ballroom, Edmund watched it all happen before his eyes. He felt like he was being set on fire, his body burned endlessly seeing the two of them together. Each time Kate looked at Harry with love, it enraged Edmund. All he wanted to do was to rip her away from Harry and tell Harry that Kate was his. And his body was more in flames whenever he heard the guests whispering how they fitted each other and were the ideal and
Mr Collin threw a farewell party for Harry. He had sent invitations all over Westport County and even invited some important figures from abroad. The Monterrey mansion was decorated beautifully - the abundance of foliage, exotic fruits and fresh flowers were centerpieces used in both the interior and exterior, red velvet drapes covered the polished windows and ornate rugs were rolled out from the entrance, the tables were heavily adorned with exquisite china, cut crystal glasses, ornate silver and gold flatware, ample and soft lightings from the chandeliers, table lamps and candles placed in clusters. Guests were sauntering in with elegance, long trays carrying flute glasses were moving along quickly into the main Hall.In the garden, there were also different circular tables perfectly lined and arranged. Edmund lounged back on one of the chairs, both of his legs were crossed over the table, one of his arm was slung over the back of the chair as he casually brought the cigarette inb
