The Next Alpha King

*Prince Vincent*

I grew  up in the Langston Palace knowing that I am the only heir of the Great Alpha King. Yes, my father is the leader of all the alpha wolves that walk this earth. He is Alpha King Jack Langston, who stands in the throne and the one that unites all the alphas of the four regions. Blessed by our creator the Moon Goddess, my father posses the strength which is feared by many wolves.

He is strong, the wolves who knows his name vows to follow his every command and they pay their respect to him as the great leader of all the wolves and the most powerful alpha of all. But there is something that I always wanted to ask him, yet I couldn't find the right answer from the man himself. He is difficult to comprehend, he never spends more than an hour when he talks to me which only happens once in a week.

Before, our situation makes me sad but later on I got used to this routine, however the issue about my mother is a different story. All I only knew is that she died giving birth to me. My very own father rarely talks about her, specially with me. It was someone who works in the Palace who told me that my mother the Queen, has died when I was younger and when I asked my only aunt who is always there for me. This is what she had to say.

"Vincent sweetheart, your father is the great Alpha King, one day he will tell you everything from the very beginning. I am in no position to say anything about the truth from your mother's history as of now, since he forbids to let others speak about her until the moment he declares that it is alright."

"But Aunt Jasmin, we don't have to tell my father everything that you will say to me. I am really interested to learn about the day she gave birth to me and what happened, my father told me she isn't dead yet and that the wolves in the pack believes that she is gone but not him. He said that my mother lives on! I am ten years old since last month. I believe that I deserve to know everything about her."

My young heart bleeds to hear the story of my mother, if she is alive then where is she? Why does my father didn't go out there and look for her? The tone of my voice raised uncontrollably. I didn't mean to do that with the only living relative who cares about me but my emotions are almost taking over.

"I can't tell you anything Vincent, that's enough for today please. Go on home now before my brother comes here to find you."

It sounded like I am about to be dismissed and I cannot blame her why. The beautiful face of my aunt is now full of worries regarding that query which I blurted out. She knows something and yet she is not allowed to tell me, I could see it through her eyes that no matter how much I beg for it. She will not say anything to me anymore.

I had frequent trips to the North, despite my aunt’s refusal of telling me any information regarding my mother. I hope that one day she would change her mind and say something about it, even just a slight detail about how my mother's life.

I still find ways to spend time with my aunt and her mate alpha Zero. One of the strongest alpha that I have ever known in the Northern region and is rumored to even rival my father, he is my aunt's husband. The leader of the North. That's Alpha Zero, a brave wolf who defends the Northern part of the world.

When I turned thirteen, my father sent me abroad to begin my studies at an all boys school. From there I have to control my traits as a wolf because not all the students who study in the prestigious school are wolves. Almost half of the school's population are in fact, humans. Rich and famous humans, but to me they are always vulnerable.

I live and study abroad together with my two buddies from the Royal pack who are chosen to accompany me in anywhere I go. Caleb and Alex, both of them obtained their education among other things that comes as a prize for being with me. It's not like I couldn't survive alone but the order comes from my father, so nobody could oppose. Not even me.

"Prince Vincent, Alex and I are thinking to go out tonight."

Caleb mumured, while our teacher have his back from the class. The old man is writing our lesson on the wide chalk board. Both Caleb and Alex are sitting alongside with me in the class. We were only pretending to show interest for today's lesson but our minds are far from it.

"Hmm, sounds cool! But quit calling me Prince Vincent, Caleb. We are not in the Palace, learn how to say my first name and I will come hang out with you both tonight."

The two looked at each other with meaningful glances before grinning ear to ear.

"See I told you Prince Vincent is cool about the plan!"

Alex exclaimed before the two of them raised their hands and did a high five. The noise they created made the students in the class give their attention towards us. The teacher stopped writing and put his journal in the table.

Our eyes meet but I didn't say a word, instead I hold his stare purposely and wait for his response. He blinked twice, Mr. Arthur Augustin didn't utter a single word and look at his journal which is now laying flat above his desk. Caleb and Alex released both of their breaths which they have been holding for a while. The corner of my lips twisted upward before the loud bell rings, indicating that classes are over.

"Alright everyone! Don't forget your assignments tomorrow. The last one before our summer break starts!"

"Yes! Mister Augustin!"

The other boys in class race towards the door of the classroom while the three of us lazily stand up last. Caleb and Alex knows that I don't want to bump myself with the humans. I stretched out my long legs and is about to grab the small body bag that I use when Caleb beat me to it.

"Let me do the honor please Vincent."

I shrugged my shoulders. "Alright let's go."

At seventeen, i am already standing at six foot flat and the two boys beside me are also towering in almost the same height. We were endowed with good looks and charms but it's sad to say that, this is all an all boy’s school. No females, not even in the members of the faculty staff.

I walk faster than the other boys at school, catching up to them in the middle of the hall way while Alex and Caleb is only one step behind me. I could feel the cold gazes coming from our colleagues at the campus even until outside the classroom building. The smell of other wolves who are in the school grounds lingers in the wind, i can feel their presence and i could easily locate them. As the son of an alpha i posses great abilities that most normal wolves don't have. But we keep our business to ourselves, anyway we are here for the sole purpose of studying.

"So where do you guys plan on going tonight?"

I make a stop outside the gates and look behind me where Caleb answered with a wide grin across his face. "Somewhere boys like us should be at."

Alex chuckled and i smirked. "If that is where i think we are going we need to be careful, the last time we went there, we almost got caught up by the curfew hours."

Our dorms are just a few meters behind the school buildings and it is still a property of the campus, the curfew hours is at ten in the evening so we can go out and have fun no later than that. But since the boys wanted to go out for clubbing, it is to be expected that we won't be home earlier than midnight.

We have done it once and nearly locked out from our dorms if not for the security who agreed to settle with a huge amount of bribe. Money is easy for us, the Langstone Palace is rich in expensive stones and jewelries stored and keep by our bloodline ever since the very beginning of my father’s ancestors. We also own vast lands that grows fruits and fields of crops that the pack sells into the market for humans to consume. This is how blessed we are from the Moon Goddess, the creator of wolves.

"We will be home after a few drinks Vincent, I promise no more messing with the girls like last time."

As we entered the sliding entrance doors of our dorm, the old man who sat by the desk inside raise his head and smiled towards us. He knows that we are no ordinary students but still we abide by the school norms and regulations except for that one day that we break the rules. I nodded my head briefly to his greetings and same goes to the two companions who follows behind me. We were silent until we reach the elevator.

My mind went back to the first time we went into the club, it wasn't my plan to do it with one of those girls for the first time. But one thing lead to another, we acted like we were experts in front of the three beautiful prostitutes and we lost our first time that night. It wasn't planned on my part, however, I hate to be left behind when the two decided to get their first experience. That night I became an adult, and I have no regrets.

It felt good, the trouble was worth it. We had a great night, but we kept it a secret from the other wolves. Otherwise, my father would punished me for it.

“Oh yeah, well then. I trust your words on that, let me just get a shower and then we are good to go.”

“Sure thing your majesty.”

When the elevator stop and opened on the floor where our rooms is, we headed to my own little place first. Alex step forward and raised his hand in front of my door. “Keys your majesty.”

My hand rumage the pocket of my black trouser and threw him the keys hiding inside which he quickly catches with one hand. He chuckles before inserting it on the old fashioned key hole of the door provided for me.

“Alright, see you in about half an hour buddies!”

The two smiled and walk inside my room. Caleb drop my things on the small table beside my bed, and then both of them cheerfully went out of the door. I turned to closed the wooden doorframe and removed the clothes that I'm wearing. My room is simple, just a single bed, a small desk where my laptop and few books are located then a typical closet that's built-in similar to all the bedrooms in the dorm.

I hop inside the shower and turned on the water to cleanse myself of the entire days activities inside the school. Everyday life at the campus is almost the same, except for days like this whenever the boys and I are planning to get out and pretend that we're normal human beings enjoying the life of normal teens.
