Its wording and its rhythm are alike significant. ‘Wife’ is short and final. ‘Wifey’ on the other hand is characterized by a long drawn out ‘ee’ sound at the end of the word. And that is even physically softer to pronounce than ‘wife’. This phonetics in turn carries over into the word’s usage. There are situations in which one would affectionately call someone ‘wifey’ in a cute, endearing way. But then again, no one would ever declare solemnly: ‘You are my wife!’ The phonetics of the word ‘wifey’ matches its casual, affectionate connotation and function.

Kalau mau menangkap nuansa, Amerika sering pakai ekspresi serupa seperti 'fresh out of the oven' atau 'hot off the press' dalam konteks peluncuran, sementara di Inggris saya kadang dengar juga 'straight out of the oven' atau simpel 'just out of the oven'.

It’s unlikely we’ll ever have a definitive answer, because language is generally indeterminate. From the available evidence, however, it seems reasonable to conclude that yes, it does. If you’re writing a paper on pragmatics, this site is not going to help you much. On the other hand, if you’re trying to be polite to a friend telling you that he’s leaving for a trip, you can simply say “drive safely” (or, more naturally, its direct translation).

Man, searching for scanlations in specific languages is such a hassle. I was trying to find Portuguese translations of this webtoon and it was like searching for a code. For Indonesian I found this on Pinterest where people made boards with direct links to the entire chapter. It’s kinda messy since you have to click on each pin to read it but it’s ad-free. Sometimes people also host the image sets on their Tumblr blogs but that’s getting less common since a lot of sites get nuked. The way people provide us with access to scanlations in these social media sites is kinda rough but it exists. It’s like a black market for comics.

Notice how the new music video for ‘Heartless’ by Kanye West is shot in monochrome and features a bunch of ghostly traced figures within the images. What is more striking is that the figures are outlined but are otherwise absent of content. This is Heartless. People are around but they lack any substance or ‘vitality’ in their lives. The song is very much the same. It’s got a beat and the lyrics are there but it all feels so hollow and like a very beautiful shell.
The relationship is without color or life, and Kanye is expressing the heartlessness that it brings. Note that this is a very passive and un angered description of the lack of love in a relationship. The song is effective at evoking this feeling of detachment in the listener. The production keeps the listener at arm’s length from Kanye’s emotions much like Kanye keeps the listener at arm’s length in experiencing the themes of the song.

I think I’ve seen this used as a title for a playlist on something like Spotify or YouTube Music. Someone has curated a playlist of mood music for ‘Melancholy Walks at 3 AM’ or ‘Crying in the Rain’ and given it this sort of enigmatic title. Listeners then associate that title with the general mood of the playlist rather than any specific song. I think this is how a lot of the atmospheric phrases get used – through curation and aesthetic labeling in digital spaces designed to impart a particular vibe rather than to tell a story.

Mari kita bicara soal akses.
Beberapa judul yang sudah cukup dikenal adalah 'Excuse Me, This Is My Room' dan 'What Do You Take Me For?'. hampir selalu mendapatkan terjemahan prioritas.

Getting familiar with most common BookTok abbreviations will make your bookish experience even better! ‘TBR’ stands for books you want to read in the future and usually makes for a long list of books you feel guilty not reading yet yet. There’s also ‘TBR Jar’ (physical or digital) which helps picking your next book randomly. A very important abbreviation is ‘DNF’ (Did Not Finish) which – unlike what the name suggests – is something to be proud of because you recognized in time that you just weren’t in the right mood for that book and you moved on to something better. There are also abbreviations that describe moods, like ‘Romantasy’ (romance + fantasy) or ‘Dark Academia’ (the aesthetic and genre mixed with a feeling of a scholarly atmosphere and mystery, often even Gothic).
Characters & Relationships: MC = Main Character, MMC = Male Main Character, FMC = Female Main Character, LI = Love Interest. YOUR FAVORITE FICTITIONAL COUPLE! Ship = endorsing/ hoping for a certain relationship in a story. There are also tropes for the different relationships (ex. Grumpy x Sunshine, Enemies to Lovers, Morally Grey characters [aka. really bad/ antihero main characters &/or love interests that you aren’t quite sure you should like]).
Community and review-related terms. This includes “Spoiler” and “No Spoilers” to please BookTokers who wish to discuss books without giving away crucial plot points. We also have “ARCs” (which stands for “Advanced Reader Copies”) which reviewers can receive prior to a book’s publication. There are also “Auto-buy Author”s which basically means that BookTokers will buy every book that a certain author writes. This term is also used in conjunction with “Book Hangover” which is the feeling that one gets after reading an amazing book and cannot bring themselves to pick up another. Some BookTokers even mention whether a book is “Spicy” (has explicit romantic content) or “Clean”/”Fade to Black” (does not have explicit romantic content). Lastly, “BOTM” stands for “Book of the Month”, which is typically a book that is sent to subscribers of a Book of the Month Club.

Indonesia’s strict anti-pornography laws have a wide net and femdom content can easily get caught in it. While some international websites are not censored and can be hosted from abroad, hosting a website locally or distributing it within the country is a bad idea. A friend of mine was running a niche blog in English that contained no explicit content at all, it was just a discussion forum for his particular interest. But after one upset person complaining to the host the whole blog was pulled down. The way in which the laws are worded are so broad that even educational material about BDSM could easily be misinterpreted and considered to be in breach of the law. As a result most feminists in the lifestyle stick to international sites and keep a low profile.
