The Orchestrated Lie
“What’s on your mind?”
I hesitated, unsure of how to put everything into words. How could I explain the mix of emotions I felt right now? The fear, the uncertainty, the hope that had been quietly growing inside me. It felt so fragile, so new.
“I’m just... thinking,” I said quietly. “About everything.”
He raised an eyebrow, watching me carefully. “About us?”
I nodded, unsure if I could explain everything I was feeling. “I don’t know what this is, Stefan,” I admitted, my voice tinged with frustration. “I don’t know where this is going. I don’t know if I’m ready for it.”
