Can I Borrow The Kingdom Of Ash Audiobook From Online Libraries?
Borrowing Kingdom of the Wicked's sequel audiobook for free somewhere legit would be great. Trying to avoid paying full price on Audible or Amazon.

This thread is making me realize how fragmented the audiobook landscape is. We have library apps with waits, subscription services with credits, subscription services with time limits, and one-off purchases. For a specific title like this, it's a scavenger hunt. My advice is to search the title on BookBub's audiobook deals page or set a price alert on ereaderIQ. The audiobook goes on sale occasionally. If you can be patient for a few weeks, you might snag it for a few dollars without a subscription. I've done that with other Maas books.

Honestly, just pirate it. The author gets nothing, the voice actors get nothing, and you're contributing to the problem that makes libraries pay exorbitant licensing fees. Wait the few weeks on Libby. Support the systems that provide free access. If you can't wait, save up and buy it. Creators deserve to be paid for their work. Audiobooks are a huge production. It's not just the author; it's the director, engineers, and the incredible narrator who brings it to life. Borrow it legally or buy it. End of rant.

I'm just sitting here jealous of all you folks with robust library systems. My small-town library's digital collection is a ghost town. No Hoopla, and Libby has maybe two Sarah J. Maas titles, definitely not the later ones. My solution was getting a non-resident card from the Brooklyn Public Library. It costs $50 a year, but their digital collection is massive. I borrowed 'Kingdom of Ash' with a 2-week hold instead of it being completely absent. It's an investment, but if you listen to a lot of audiobooks, it pays for itself fast compared to Audible credits.

Man, all this talk about licenses and holds is giving me a headache. Can we just go back to books on tape?

Librarian here! (Well, library assistant). Please, please just call or visit your local library's website. We have guides for this! The answer varies wildly by location. Some states have fantastic digital consortiums with deep collections; others are underfunded. We can walk you through linking your card to Libby, Hoopla, or whatever we use. We can also tell you the current hold length for that specific title. It's literally our job. Don't struggle with the app alone—we might know a trick, like which neighboring library systems offer reciprocal cards that give you access to a bigger digital pool.

Book one of the Sicilian Ruin Series
She was the fire he thought he had extinguished.
He was the ruin she barely escaped.
Three years ago Amara Varela vanished without a trace --- betrayed, broken, and hunted by the man who once owned her heart. Now she's back in Sicily, not as the naive girl he left behind, but as a woman forged by survival and secrets. She has a score to settle and Luca Moretti is at the top of her list
Luca, the heir to the brutal Moretti empire, never forgives himself for losing her. When he finally finds her alive, everything he buried erupts --- lust, rage, obsession. But the Kingdom he now rules is built on blood, and his bride-to-be is not the one who haunts his dreams.
Torn between a crown he never wanted and a woman who could destroy it all, Luca must choose loyalty or desire, power or love.
In a world of violent cartels, arranged alliances, and ruthless vendettas, Amara and Luca's reunion is anything but tender. It's a war. And their passion? It could burn Sicily to the ground.

A competent scavenger who has been hardened by grief, Zara endures in the broken world, plagued by memories of the empire's devastation, particularly the ruthless purge that claimed her family's lives. She discovers a secret amid the rubble: a wounded man named Kael who says he is the final heir to the crumbling empire.

Rather, he is dangerously knowledgeable about a weapon that could upset the delicate balance of power in the world. An unforeseen attachment forms between Zara and Kael, complicating their objective as they create an uneasy alliance to traverse the lethal world of bounty hunters, imperial loyalists, and rebels.
Zara is compelled to face her own troubled past—including the potential that her long-lost brother is still alive and fighting for one of the factions—as they delve deeper into the empire's hidden secrets. After the rebels kidnap Kael and torture him to find the weapon, Zara must decide whether to risk everything to save him or let him perish.
Zara and Kael are pushed to the limit by their increasing love and the burden of their common past as they work against the clock to destroy the weapon and keep it out of the wrong hands. Will the fires of their decisions consume them or will they find salvation in a world of ashes?
Libby is my go-to, connected to my library card. I found the whole 'Throne of Glass' series there, including 'Kingdom of Ash'. The availability totally depends on your specific library's subscription with OverDrive, though. Sometimes you have to get on a waitlist, which can be a pain for popular titles.
It's worth checking if your library allows you to get cards from other library systems in your state; that can massively expand your pool. The app itself is super straightforward for borrowing and listening.
Absolutely! Many libraries have it. The process is usually you borrow through Libby and then choose 'Read with Kindle,' which sends you to Amazon to complete the loan. It's seamless once set up. Just make sure your library card is registered in the Libby app first. The title should be there if your library has purchased the digital licenses.
The length is intimidating, but it goes by fast when you're hooked. Legal avenues: major digital stores. That's Amazon, Apple, Google, Kobo. Or subscription services: Audible, Scribd, Spotify (with the hours limit). Or free services: Library apps (Libby, Hoopla, CloudLibrary). Pick one based on your budget and patience.
Audiobook platforms like Audible and Apple Books have it for sale, which is the most direct route. You might also check if your local library uses an app like Libby or Hoopla; I've borrowed quite a few fantasy titles that way without spending a dime. Scribd's subscription service sometimes includes it in their rotating catalog, though availability can shift. It's definitely worth shopping around since prices can vary a little between stores for the same credits or outright purchase.
I love a good life hack for books. Here's one: if you have Amazon Prime, sometimes they offer a short-term Audible trial with extra perks for members. Also, if you've never used Audible in any form, you can often get a longer trial (like 2 months free) through promotional links from booktubers or podcasts. Just search 'Audible extended trial' and see what pops up.
