Is Kingdom Of Ash Available On Any Free Audiobook Trial Platforms?
Hoping to listen to this final Throne of Glass book on an audio subscription but free credits seem impossible to find for Sarah J. Maas.

A different angle: sometimes buying the Kindle ebook first unlocks a cheaper 'add-on' audiobook price. If you can get the ebook on sale or through Kindle Unlimited, the accompanying audiobook might drop to $7.49 or less. That's not free, but it's significantly cheaper than a credit, and you get both formats. Check the Amazon page for 'Audible Narration' price after you 'buy' the ebook.

The ethical consumer in me says: if you love Sarah J. Maas's work and want more of it, using a legitimate service (even a trial) that pays royalties is the move. Those royalties support her, the narrator, the editors, everyone. A free trial from Audible still generates a sale from their perspective. It's a win-win—you get it free, they get a sale.

I'm skeptical of the 'free trial' chase for a specific, massive bestseller. Publishers know its value. It's often placed outside the all-you-can-listen sections of services like Scribd to drive individual sales or credit use. Your highest probability of success is using a trial credit to purchase it outright. Anything else is a pleasant surprise, not a strategy.

I love a good life hack for books. Here's one: if you have Amazon Prime, sometimes they offer a short-term Audible trial with extra perks for members. Also, if you've never used Audible in any form, you can often get a longer trial (like 2 months free) through promotional links from booktubers or podcasts. Just search 'Audible extended trial' and see what pops up.

The Obsidian Covenant #1: The Rejected Mate's Ruin

4.7K
In a world where the moon shattered and the strong devoured the weak, Neoma Solstice is nothing. A scentless Null. A ghost. A mistake.
Until the day she saves a dying Lycan warrior with a touch, and her secret is revealed: she's Void-Born, the rarest mutation in existence. The same power that makes her invisible makes her invaluable—a living weapon that can cure the incurable Feral Rot plaguing the Lycan Ascendancy.
Captured and collared, Neoma is forced to serve as "Tether" to Unit Vanguard: four elite soldiers on the brink of madness. Barzil, the ruthless Commander who sees her as a mission. Wolfy, the cold Tactician who sees her as a puzzle. Viggo, the feral Berserker who sees her as salvation. Guller, the fallen Priest who sees her as redemption.
They own her contract. They control her life. They swear she's just a tool.
But tools don't make their masters kneel.
As Neoma's power grows, so does the threat she poses to the regime that enslaved her. When the prophesied Blood Moon rises, she'll have to choose: remain the Ascendancy's battery, or become the Void that devours them whole.
Some bonds are forged in blood. Some in magic. Theirs was forged in desperation—and it might be the only thing strong enough to save a dying world.
The Obsidian Covenant is a dark dystopian reverse harem romance featuring a morally gray FMC, four obsessive MLs, found family dynamics, enemies-to-lovers, rejected mate redemption, and a slow-burn that explodes into high heat. Perfect for fans of The Cruel Prince meets Den of Vipers in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
No choosing. No apologies. No mercy.
King Lucien Draven rules the United Packs with cold iron strength. He has crushed every rebellion and refused every mating alliance. Lycan law demands a king produce heirs with a royal female or face challenge to his throne. Male omegas are disposable tributes, never equals.
Then Caelan Ashford arrives as tribute from a fading noble pack. The quiet, scarred omega expects death in the royal palace. Instead, his scent ignites the ancient mate bond the instant their eyes meet. The pull is raw, immediate, and utterly forbidden.
Lucien fights the bond with ruthless control. He confines Caelan to the lower halls, assigns him to brutal training, and buries desire beneath duty. But every stolen glance and accidental brush erodes his restraint. The bond grows stronger, darker, impossible to ignore.
Caelan hides a deadly secret: royal blood from the dynasty Lucien’s ancestors destroyed. His silver collar dulls his true scent, yet it cannot hide him from the king or from Prince Rowan Draven, Lucien’s charismatic and dangerous younger brother.
Rowan sees Caelan as both prize and weapon. He offers protection and power in exchange for loyalty, circling like a predator while court intrigue thickens with assassination plots and rising rebellion.
Torn between throne and heart, Lucien must decide how much he will risk for his forbidden mate. Caelan, trapped between two lethal alphas, navigates betrayal, awakening power, and a bond that could destroy the kingdom or remake it.
In a slow-burning dance of denial and surrender, where every touch courts war and every refusal cuts deeper, one forbidden connection threatens an empire and two wounded souls who were never meant to find each other.
"The gods are dead. The bloodlines remain. And she's about to bring it all down."
Rowyn Vale grew up on the wrong side of the realm - poor, half-starved, and pissed off at the world. Her fae parents ran relics, sold shadows, and tried to sell her. She's used to surviving. Not exploding with ancient light and accidentally blinding a rich fae girl in the middle of high school.
Now she's sentenced to death for a power she didn't ask for.
But when a winged, arrogant disaster of a boy crashes through her prison ceiling and drags her into the sky, Rowyn learns the truth: she's not just some broken street fae.
She's godblooded.
Welcome to Eidolon Academy - a sentient university hidden in a pocket realm where every student is descended from a god, and each year ends in a deadly Trial that can kill you... or awaken something worse.
Survive the Trials, and ascend.
Fail, and vanish forever.
And if the rumors are true?
Rowyn isn't just another godblood.
She might be the heir of the Godkiller - the one being powerful enough to raise the Pantheon.
Let the Trials begin.
Let the realm burn

Honestly, just check the author’s or publisher’s official site or social media. Sometimes they run promotional partnerships with specific apps for a limited time. I remember Bloomsbury did a thing with Spotify for a different series. It’s rare for a single title to have its own dedicated trial, though.
More common is the app itself wanting to hook you with a free month. Install Audible, use the free credit on 'Kingdom of Ash', and remember to cancel if you don’t want to continue. Simple as that.
Is the audiobook abridged or full length on these platforms? That was my biggest worry when I started. I can confirm that on Audible, Google, Apple, and library apps, it's the full, unabridged novel. The runtime is over 33 hours, so you're getting the complete story. Some shady sites might offer condensed versions, but the major platforms are safe. For a new user, this is critical—you don't want to accidentally get a summarized version and miss huge plot points. Stick with the big names or your trusted library app to be sure.
What's the difference between the audiobook and the ebook for this one? The atmosphere is so thick, I feel like the narration adds a lot to the gothic, sensual vibe. A trial lets you experience that enhanced version without the price tag. It's a good match for the material.
