I also just finished reading the solid completed series My Gently Raised Beast and another solid completed series Charlotte and Her 5 Disciples where the female lead is an overpowered archmage driving the story forward. I just finished reading the web novel The Rejected True Heiress as well. The female lead was rejected by her family and is now trying to rebuild her life and power. It is a very strategic come back by the female lead as opposed to her relying on some romantic savior to come and save her. It is a very satisfying full-length read and really explores the female lead finding her identity after being cast out by her family.

I REALLY WANT TO RECOMMEND COMPLETED MANHWA WITH QUIETLY FIERCE HEROINES to people. Right now I’m recommending Who Made Me a Princess above all else because of the GREAT EMOTIONAL INVESTMENT and ALSO the clever survival tactics of the main character as she grows from a shaking, scared little girl to a strong, wise princess who rules with kindness and wits. I actually had to re-read a number of scenes from the story because the character growth just felt so Earned.
For some good revenge scheming ‘The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass’ is a classic read where the lead uses her wits and past life lessons to rewrite her current fate. Another read of mine was ‘The Abandoned Empress’ which takes the melancholy heroine on a journey of growth and empowerment as she learns to take control of her own destiny. Lastly for some good messy complicated ambition with an ‘anti-heroine’ who isn’t really likable at times I recommend ‘Your Throne’ (I Want to Be You, Just For A Day). It has great dialogue and is very morally gray. All of these stories reached a great point of closure for the characters and were enjoyable to read.

There are a few completed manhwa that I remember because the female leads are well written in that they are not just powerful for the sake of action, but also have agency, make choices and deal with the consequences of those choices. I often recommend ‘Who Made Me a Princess’ because the heroine develops in terms of her emotional intelligence and also learns diplomacy in the midst of her usual magical mayhem.
The approach is of course the exact opposite in The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass, where a heroine uses time reset to strategic ends, following her through a novel full of reversals of fortune in a highly patterned and tactical way. This is very different to moral development in The Abandoned Empress, for example, where the heroine develops into a resilient, non-victim-like person as she battles her way through a complex and often-painful but wonderful story full of explorations of regret. For a really messed up moral tale though, Your Throne is a really good example of a story that flips your sympathies round and round, so you’re never quite sure who is in the right. Work of a similar nature to these titles would include works of the ‘revenge’, ‘reincarnation’ and ‘political intrigue’ varieties, often with a female lead and plenty of plot.

Completed manhwa with strong female leads is something that I get excited to recommend to my friends, sort of like their favorite cafe. For now, I’ll begin with Who Made Me a Princess. The adorable and sweetgrowth of the young, helpless princess to a smart, worldly princess that will negotiate for her kingdom is oh-so-satisfying. Its corresponding art is equally great.
'The Abandoned Empress' is a nice mix of regret and rebirth. The heroine develops into a nice, pragmatic woman. If you like politics, and a competitive, sometimes toxic, world of friendships, then ‘Your Throne’ is a lot of fun. It’s a wild ride with a very game heroine. The best part is, they all ended nicely, so you get the feeling of closure after having read through the entire thing.

For finished manhwa with strong female leads, I'd recommend starting with 'Who Made Me a Princess' which has some of the best development in a female lead that I've read, followed by 'The Abandoned Empress' which is a great, bittersweet comeback story. Next, I'd recommend 'The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass' which has great tactical revenge, and finally 'Your Throne' for a morally ambiguous story of power and how to gain and keep a throne.
All of these novels feature strong female leads and focus on how they shape their worlds as opposed to the world shaping them. So, let me know if you are looking for something more on the sweet side or if you are looking for something dark and tatical and I can try to recommend more novels that fit the vibe you are looking for as well as political.

Elina thought she had hit rock bottom.
She lost her job. Her therapy session dredged up memories of the ex-boyfriend who stalked and traumatized her. The only thing she had left to look forward to was the finale of her favorite fantasy series, Moonbound Faith.
Then the show ended.
The heroes won. The villain died. Everyone got their happily-ever-after.
That same night, a knock at her door shatters what little peace she has left.
Her ex is standing outside.
The man who was supposed to be in prison.
Forced to flee into a storm, Elina runs until she reaches the edge of a cliff with nowhere left to go. Faced with a choice between death and returning to the man who destroyed her life, she jumps.
But instead of dying, she wakes up inside Moonbound Faith.
Not as the heroine.
Not as a side character.
But as Luna—the infamous villainess whose tragic death she celebrated only hours before.
Determined to survive, Elina plans to use her knowledge of the story to change her fate. But everything she thought she knew begins to unravel when a small boy tugs on her sleeve and calls her one word:
“Mom.”
The original story never mentioned a child.
And when Elina uncovers the truth behind his existence, she realizes something terrifying.
The villainess was never the villain.
The story lied.
And the ending she remembers may not be the ending waiting for her at all.
What happens when the tormented female lead in a novel wakes up and decides to get together with the second male lead?
Coincidentally enough, I'm transmigrated into the body of this tormented female lead!
My mother was the villainess of a story. When I was born, the story came to its end.
In the past, she was a rich heiress who drowned herself in luxury and pleasure. At present, everyone condemned her and spat in her path.
After my father, the male lead of the story, betrayed her, her family went bankrupt.
She knew nothing and had no skills, but for me, she was willing to learn from scratch.
She looked at her with contempt, her red heels clicking on the ground. A sinister smile is plastered on her face full of malice.
"Whatever you do, he's mine. Even if you go back in time, he's always be mine."
Then the man beside the woman with red heels, snaked his hands on her waist.
"You'll never be my partner. You're a trash!"
The pair walked out of that dark alley and left her coughing blood. At the last seconds of her life, her lifeless eyes closed.

Jade angrily looked at the last page of the book.
She believed that everyone deserves to be happy.
She heard her mother calling for her to eat but reading is her first priority. And so, until she felt dizzy reading, she fell asleep.
***
Words she can't comprehend rang in her ears.
She's now the 'Heather' in the book.
[No, I won't change the story. I'll just watch on the sidelines.]
This is what she believed not until...
"Stop slandering Heather unless you want to lose your necks."
That was the beginning of her new life as a character.
