Does Fauda Saison 5 Have English Subtitles?

Season 5, episode of the English subtitles came out really well. I stayed up all night to watch it. The work the translators put in to understand and translate the slang and the army jargon is really impressive. If you’re watching legally then you’re golden. The subtitles can get a bit sketchy on the pirated streams though. A pro move would be to first download the episode and then try to watch it. Sometimes the glitches with the playback disappear after that. Too intense of a show to want to miss a word, especially when it’s Doron in the midst of his crazy ops. I would really hate to have to make something up that I missed.

Subtitles for people who are hard of hearing like me are essential. So, I immediately looked for English subtitles for the new season of Fauda. The good news is that they are there for Season 5. While Netflix is generally good with subtitles for foreign language programs, some of the smaller platforms can take a few days to sync up all the subtitles. I also have to give credit to the team who do the subtitles for Fauda. They make a huge job look easy, especially in scenes with lots of Hebrew and Arabic. Subtitles for these scenes are even differentiated between languages with the team using different fonts and colors where applicable. For those outside the US, though, be aware of the regional licensing agreements in place and use a VPN if you find you are unable to access subtitles for your region.

My friend was swearing blind there were no subtitles for Fauda until I showed her how to access the menu for the subtitles (which are buried under ‘Audio & Subtitles’ in most apps – you have to look in the ‘playback settings’ menu, not the main menu for the episode).

I devoured Fauda, and loved that the subtitles for it were available (since I couldn’t even begin to pretend to understand my Hebrew-speaker family members’ dialogue). For Season 5 of the popular Netflix series, English subtitles will usually be available for Fauda (as they are for many of Netflix’s most popular internationally-made television shows). Viewers watching the series on external platforms hopefully will find that the majority of them offer similar levels of accessibility to Netflix. Note that often, you can toggle subtitles on and off in a series’ settings (and even choose from different languages and font sizes, etc.), so it’s worth checking those out first. This show is already SO tense, no subtitles would be beyond frustrating!

Side note: If subtitles aren’t turning up, you might need to check another profile or switch to another device. (I had this problem recently where my kid’s profile was set to turn off subtitles by default, for some reason. Fan forums on streaming platforms as well as on Reddit (r/Fauda) will generally have the most up-to-date answers to these kinds of problems. The communities are highly active and there will generally be someone who has recently gone through and fixed the exact problem you’re having.
