No sequel to 'Five Survive' has been written, and it remains a standalone thriller. I think of another survival scenario I read recently. 'The Day My Survival Score Reached Zero' is another survival scenario, a brutal, rules-based game where the characters' only hope of staying alive is to score points. But there's a twist: the main character starts off with a score of zero, and has to play the game from a position of weakness in order to outwit the system.

For now, there's no sequel planned but doors are wide open and it would be amazing to continue the story of Red alive but in such pain and the real masterminds behind the murder still at large. Holly Jackson wrote ‘Five Survive’ as a story full of moral ambiguity and therefore it would be really interesting to see whether Red becomes a hunter or a prey in a sequel. The book is doing amazing so far and I’m sure Holly’s publisher will push her to write a follow-up as they can smell a hit. In the meantime fans are creating all sorts of theories about what might happen next.

For this post, I have been digging into the Five Survive universe and therefore there is no official sequel but, much like with A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, there is potential for another book with all of the unanswered questions left for readers with regards to Red’s past and the organization he is involved with. Holly Jackson often writes series and there is certainly demand for more after that epic cliffhanger.

I suppose it’s possible she doesn’t intend for us to be thinking about this in terms of a sequel, but it would be a natural expansion of the world of Five Survive, a really gritty and unique story within Jackson’s typical style of standalone yet connected stories. Perhaps we’ll get a spin-off or have some hidden gems left for future readers in later books. For now, I’ll continue to re-read Five Survive in search of even more subtle clues and plot points as well as hidden breadcrumbs throughout the story.

As a bookseller I talk books to readers on a daily basis, and will often get asked if a particular book is a series or not. ‘Five Survive’ has a really satisfying end to the book, and is really tense to the very end, but at the same time it’s been left open for readers to imagine what may happen next – classic Amanda Jackson! As of yet there are no plans for a follow up to ‘Five Survive’ but with Jackson’s growing audience it’s certainly something she may consider in the future.

The only hint to new books from Jackson on her Instagram account, and she is very close-lipped about her future projects. If there is to be a sequel, I would imagine it would go more in depth into the conspiracy at the heart of the book. Perhaps even linking to other of her books. As it stands, Five Survive ends on a brutal yet satisfying note and doesn’t need a sequel. It certainly would be wonderful to have one though.

I binge-read all of Holly Jackson’s books and I think ‘Five Survive’ is a great standalone novel. It’s very fast-paced and it’s wrapped up the central crisis in the book to a fairly abrupt but satisfying conclusion. My impression of Holly’s work is that she writes compact, high-stakes stories rather than a long series so I wouldn’t expect a sequel but the villain’s escape and Red’s emotional journey are both left somewhat open so perhaps there could be a book that addresses those issues. Fans are vocal on social media so I’m sure that would be noticeable to publishers.

I am focusing on new IP at the moment but one never knows. The survivalist angle of this book, somewhere between Lord of the Flies and a political thriller, would be a great setting for more. Any future book would likely center around Red’s revenge or the roots of the conspiracy that was exposed.

How does 'Five Survive' end?

I have to admit, I kind of skimmed the last few chapters of the book because it was getting to be so tense and I needed to be able to read it after my heart rate returned to normal. Re-reading everything after I had calmed down was really interesting because I was able to pick up on so many little things that I had missed the first time. The look Sunny gave Red, the way Maddy was holding her dead phone, the exact words that Dobbs had confessed with… it was all just so phenomenal. The first time through the book was for panic, the second time through was for heartbreak. The author did such a great job with the last few chapters of the book. Every line served a purpose of advancing the story and character’s tragedy.

Does Inferno Demon Riders MC: My Five Obsessed Bullies have a sequel?

There is no sequel. The book is listed as a single title on all retail platforms. It has a clear beginning, middle, and end, and the central conflict of the book—Rion bullying Hunter until Hunter claims him back—is completely and fully resolved. In order for a sequel to be as strong as this book, it would require a second conflict of similar depth and magnitude, which would be difficult to create organically. I would recommend reading this book as a single, complete story and then seeking out other single-title novels by this author, as well as his other series, if you enjoy his writing style. Fans will want more of this book simply because it is so engaging and emotional, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there needs to be more.

Is 'Surviving as a Genius on Borrowed Time' getting a sequel?

Borrowed time isn’t only for genius. What if someone had borrowed time for their charisma or luck? A thematic sequel to explore another aspect of that cosmic deal would be awesome. It’s a completely new story while maintaining the core philosophical questions and setting of the original.

Does and then there were none 2015 have a sequel?

Mystery drama fan that I am, I can confirm that there is no sequel to the phenomenal miniseries ‘And Then There Were None’ (2015). The BBC series remains a wonderful adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel, with no loose ends left for a sequel. Viewers can look to other adaptations of the author’s works, such as ‘The Witness for the Prosecution’ or ‘Ordeal by Innocence’ for more of the same dark, suspenseful atmosphere. If you enjoyed the claustrophobic setting and suspense of ‘And Then There Were None’ then you may enjoy more stories set in isolated locations with a similar atmosphere to the above, such as ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ or ‘Sharp Objects’. However, neither of these are based on Agatha Christie’s work. I wouldn’t really want a sequel to this and think that it is a complete and satisfying story in itself. The mystery was enough for me to wonder what had happened and sometimes that is even better left to one’s imagination.

Is 'The Five Star Weekend' part of a series?

Nope! It’s a one-off story. I’ve read enough books by authors who write a lot of them that every single one feels connected to the others, but this isn’t one of them. I’ve checked the author’s website and her official FAQ and this book is listed under ‘Standalone Novels’. The story is Hollis Shaw gathering together a group of friends from different parts of her life and what happens is contained within that story. You don’t need to have read anything else by this author before and there’s no need to read any future books for her to explain what’s happened in this one. A nice clean read.

Does 'Two Can Keep a Secret' have a sequel?

12 Answers2025-06-23
I'm unaware of any sequel to this book. I looked on Goodreads and major book retailers, but there is no listing for “Book 2” under this title. This novel is a standalone. If you enjoyed this book, you might look into the rest of the YA mystery/thriller novels by authors like Maureen Johnson, Caleb Roehrig, and Kara Thomas. These books are similarly tense and character-driven, and might scratch that same itch as this novel. The hunt for another good book can be almost as enjoyable as the book itself, and can even lead to new favorite authors. So branch out a bit!

Are there any sequels to Hole House?

3 Answers2026-01-15
None of the other KittyHorrorShow games are direct sequels, but they do all seem to be part of the same general web of twisted family members. “The Hysterical House of Holes” is a good example of this — it uses some of the same imagery and and makes for a far more surreal experience than straight up horror. But while “Anatomy” does up the ante on the sense of claustrophobia present in the original, I sort of wish there were no official sequels to this game at all. As it stands, the original feels like a very forbidden artifact.

What is the plot of 'Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford'?

10 Answers2026-06-16
For me, the setting is also a character in the story. The beginning of the plot takes place in a luxurious but empty mansion. As the two main characters start to build a life together, the space is filled with signs of shared life such as her books on his desk and his sweater in her room. Later, they are struggling with power dynamics in a corporate setting. Each location highlights a different side of the couple. Often a fight will take place in the cold marble of the foyer and their reconciliation will start in the cozy library that is now shared by both of them. The plot of the two main characters’ journey from having separate bedrooms to sharing one is depicted mostly through changes in their surroundings rather than having long conversations to explain what is happening.

Is there a sequel to 'Secret Class'?

9 Answers2025-06-28
I really hope not. I got to enjoy the drama and all the "education" behind the story just like every other reader, but like I said before, the story has reached its end. You don't have to create a franchise with every successful series. That author should use his or her talent for art and storytelling for a new, completely different series with brand new characters. Rehashing the same dynamics of previous characters would get stale very fast. The initial premise of the series was very charming and had a lot of potential in how far it could be stretched. But in the end, there's only so far you can go before you start crossing lines that you don't want to cross. And once you've crossed those lines, where do you go from there? More secrets? More characters? It'd just be another way for the author to try to make some more cash off of the series. And I'm pretty sure most fans would be able to tell when they're being ripped off. Just let it be a very memorable, very controversial, but complete work.

Does 'Ask for Andrea' have a sequel?

3 Answers2025-06-25
I’ve scoured forums, interviews, and articles across the web but there’s no sequel on the horizon to Andrea’s ghostly revenge tale. The book is a single-sitting read and its power would be dwindled if it were stretched out over multiple books. The author of Ask for Andrea is a writer of one-off psychological thrillers in the style of Ruth Ware or Shari Lapena. If you got a kick out of the supernatural detection in Ask for Andrea, you might want to check out The Broken Girls by Simone St. James. It’s another historical horror/mystery with a focus on a Gothic boarding school, full of dark secrets. But whereas that book is primarily focused on uncovering a mystery, Ask for Andrea is focused more on characters and is full of the sort of horror that creates a lot of emotional resonance. So, while it’s a great “if you liked this then you might also like this,” it doesn’t really need a sequel.
