What Is Homelander'S Weakness

What an interesting problem! It is always fascinating to poke around at the weak spot of superheros.Homelander of the TV show The Boys doesn't have a 'material' weakness like most traditional superheroes. He is, in essence, impossible to kill.

Nevertheless, He carries around the burden of too much reality in his brain, and this often comes hurting back on him. It is the love and credibility of others that drive him. This is an inevitable consequence of being brought up in a laboratory environment without real parental love or a normal childhood, which makes him rather emotional and easily-ironed.

So Homelander is our man- there are few things in life he wants as much as to be accepted.

For example, take the character Homelander in the TV series 'The Boys'. Interesting to say the least, he has a mental if not physical Achilles's heel. He has another different from most superhero types--not composed of some sort of strange material, but morality itself......and an exceeding sensation for public recognition.

Born during an age when the character had no choice but to submit to constant manipulation, experimenting and the pure and simple absence of meaningful love, 'he' was really only half alive. The habit of desperately asking for approval after every single thing is precisely his modern-day character.

He longs for the love, admiration, and applause of the general public, and when it is not forthcoming he becomes impassioned or careless as well. So in fact his instability is utilized by those who understand this psychological glitch, making Homelander's strength simply meaningless and, in many ways a greater weakness than his greatest.

No superhero is perfect; Homelander also has his weak spots. With Homelander (from The Boys), those weaknesses are not so much bodily as psychological. The vulnerability of Homelander from within. Emotionally he's weak and needing the validation or praise that adulation and encouragement bring.

This urge comes from way back--despite a fluffy upbringing at the laboratory, he was always an unwanted child. So it's really a moving weakness after all.
