I appreciate when a series has a clear, unambiguous reading order. 'Log Horizon' is a blessing in that regard. Volume 1 to volume 11. Done.
No need to interweave short story collections, no alternate timelines, no 'read this chapter from this volume then jump to this other series'. It's a clean, linear narrative. In a genre full of convoluted spin-offs, it's refreshing. Just follow the numbers on the cover, and you'll experience the story exactly as intended.

It's a simple list: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. I don't know how else to say it. The story is serialized.
Think of it like a TV series. You wouldn't watch season 3 before season 1. The light novel volumes are the seasons. Some anime-only fans try to jump into the new content at volume 6 or 7, but they miss so much foundational character work. Do a full read-through. The early world-building is what makes the later political intricacies meaningful.

It's so straightforward it almost feels like a trick question. But I get it, some series have wonky orders. This isn't one of them.
'Log Horizon' is a standard, brilliantly executed serialized light novel. The reading order is the publication order is the chronological order. Three-in-one. No need to cross-reference any other media. Just grab volume 1 and start reading. The rest will follow naturally, one volume after another, building a incredibly detailed world.

It's a straight line from 1 to 11. I wish more series were this clear-cut. No alternate universes, no 'read this side story between chapter 4 and 5 of volume 2'. Just a solid, sequential story.
If you want to be thorough, you could read the short story collections after the volume they're loosely associated with, but it's not necessary. For the main plot, the roadmap is as simple as it gets. Don't complicate a good thing.

Can someone confirm if the 'Travel to the Holy Empire of Westlande' is fully in the anime?
