“We don’t know.” Hope’s eyes narrowed. “Then someone survived.” Seraphina stepped forward. “Not someone.” Everyone looked at her. “Something.” Hope’s heart tightened. “What?” Seraphina pointed toward the horizon. A black line had appeared across the sky. It was barely visible. But Hope recognized it. The same darkness she had seen before. “No.” Adrian moved closer. “What’s happening?” Hope stared. “The First Hunger.” Seraphina shook her head. “Not exactly.” Hope looked at her.

"I've dreamed of this moment every day." A tear slid down her cheek. "You've grown into a remarkable woman." Lina smiled through her tears. "I have so many questions." "And I promise I'll answer every one." Isabella glanced toward the blaring alarms. "But first..." "We survive." Part 3: Black Horizon Victor stepped toward a large tactical display. Red dots surrounded the island. "They're attacking from every direction." Lina looked at the screen. "Who are they?" Isabella answered quietly. "Black Horizon."

Then Hisham stood up slowly and spoke in a deliberately grave tone: "You're right, General... A man like Malik doesn't leave a trace behind, and if they're connected to what happened, he won't let them live. Excellent idea." The two generals exchanged a long, wordless look—a look that said everything words couldn't. A group waited at the far end of the platform—three figures in dark coats, their insignia faint but unmistakable. The tallest among them stepped forward, removing his hood. He wasn’t much older than Lena—late thirties, maybe. His eyes were sharp, intelligent. “You must be Speaker Vale,” he said. “Lena Quinn,” she corrected. He smiled faintly. “Ah. The successor.” Lena didn’t rise to the bait. “You said you wanted to talk.” “We do,” he said. “The Horizon Accord is not the Black Sun. We are the remnants of a broken order, trying to survive what your city unleashed.”

Friday July 20th, 2018; 9pm (Cole’s POV) I wake suddenly with a gasp, nearly falling from my seat as the smooth black top road turns into the crunchy vibrations of a graveled roadway. I blink several times, clearing my eyes enough to see the sign, ‘Welcome to White Ridge, A Gated Community’. “Wait,” I suddenly gasp in a panic. “We’re supposed to be going to the Black Moon pack.” “Easy there, Cole. Everything is okay.” Jamie’s voice is calm but assertive as he tries to break through my increasing panic.

There were men everywhere too, Maria hadn’t been kidding when she’d said the boys were out there. Grant said, “Hey Hunter, you stayed the night?” Hunter nodded as he was still in his tux, he figured it was self-explanatory. He and Damon grabbed a seat on the empty benches near the door and watched as she put her ear buds in her ear and attached her iPod to her arm, made an adjustment to the digital settings then began to run hell for leather.

CHAPTER 30 – Burning Horizon Rowan stood at the edge of Firespire Cliff, the wind whipping through her hair, tugging at her cloak. The world below stretched endlessly, forests and valleys fading into the distance. She clenched her fists, feeling the pulse of her fire echo through her veins. A ring of blue flame appeared in the sky, arcing high above the horizon. It twisted and shimmered, impossible in shape and color, yet undeniable. Rowan’s chest tightened. Azeriel. A message. A challenge. A declaration.

“Have you seen enough?!” “NO!” they yelled. “Have you seen enough FUCKING HORROR?” he howled. “Have you seen enough. Mother. Fucking.CARNAGE?” “NO!” “That’s what I hoped you’d say! ‘Cause I’m a long way from being done with you sons of bitches! Nobody’s getting out of here alive!” “YEAH!” they cheered. My eyes had become readjusted to the darkness, and I could make out a set of wires that ran from over the fence by the access road to the roof of the concession stand. They must have a phone. I made my way between the cars towards the back of the building.

Xander opened his window and looked into the eye scanner, which automatically opened the gate. The car drove into the house, stopping to scan his eyes from time to time until they reached the underground parking lot. He walked towards the house, and the moment he opened the front door, a heavy figure jumped on him. His zealous instinct as an elder brother automatically showed as he spans the girl in his arms around. Jasmine dissolved into a burst of uncontrollable laughter.
