What Is The Plot Of Manhwa The Absolute Threshold?
Absolutely adore the art style and the buildup but got totally lost after the time skip. Do the flashbacks tie back to the start of 'The Absolute Threshold' manhwa, or is there a whole new storyline after chapter 50?

Set in a martial arts world, ‘The Absolute Threshold’ follows a hero from a lower plane of existence as he attempts to shatter the ancient cosmos separating his realm from those above. With power to exceed that of the threshold, he sets out on a quest to realize just how much power the upper realms possess and to seek out the truth of their existence. Another novel taking a look at the cultivation world, ‘Martial Dragon Emperor’ is about a young hero whose dormant, draconic genes hold the secret to his revival to dominance. As he battles within treacherous sects and hidden realms, his early difficulties to achieve recognition within his clan are soon followed by still greater struggles as he battles to save the world. His adventures are told at a breakneck pace.

The Absolute Threshold' is a wild ride of a manhwa. The story follows Kim Roksu, an unassuming guy, who discovers he can see a mystical threshold above every person’s heads. These lines represent the value of a life and whether it’s worthy of existence or not. The higher up a threshold is, the more worthy of life a person is. When a threshold hits zero, the person dies. Roksu gets recruited by a secret organization that monitors the thresholds of alive people and he has to make some very tough moral choices regarding life and death of people. The story reminds me of ‘Death Note’ and ‘Psycho-Pass’ but it’s definitely it’s own unique take on the two themes.
The real core of the book for me though is the existential tension. As the main character is the most normal person in this book, he’s very relatable. But he’s also human and therefore flawed and therefore occasionally pulls actions that are really questionable. The manhwa explores themes of how society assigns value to people, how much control people have over their own lives, and how much control their lives are determined by circumstance. And then there’s the violence. It’s really brutal. The artwork really enhances the sense of unease, too, especially when the lines on a character’s threshold flicker or start to break. It’s a great read for someone who enjoys books that explore big ideas while delivering lots of action and lots of mental sleight-of-hand. I devoured it in two nights and have been thinking about the ending ever since.

There is a new manhwa being released called ‘The Absolute Threshold’. It follows the life of Kim Roksu and how after waking up one day he can see how much people are worth. He soon finds out that this ability to see the thresholds of people in relation to a shadowy system is a very dangerous thing. We explore the way society looks at human worth and how ruthless corporations and politicians fight to be on top of each other. Does Roksu end up being just a bystander or does he get more involved in the fight for survival?
Other notable characters include his often-contradictory sensei, as well as his ‘.enemy’ who embodies the system in its cruellest form. The pacing is great with a good mix of plot development and confrontation, as well as meaningful character moments. One of the things that I love about ‘The Absolute Threshold’ is that even the ‘bad guys’ have a threshold, and so can often exist in a gray area. The gritty art work really drives home the ‘numbers’ that the protagonist sees, and is especially effective in quiet moments where a character’s threshold has ‘busted’.

'Life quantified. A concept too simple and yet too terrible to exist,' begins ‘The Absolute Threshold’. We watch Kim Roksu’s plight as he discovers that his unique insight into the boundaries that measure human life can bring as much suffering as relief – especially when he discovers that there are others with powers to alter the life and death thresholds of humans. Twists and turns abound and for long periods it seems that just when the protagonist and we have managed to establish some safe boundary it will fail him. A most thoughtful manhwa that never resolves for us the identities of those who control the human thresholds or explains their motives for doing so. Instead, it forces us to grapple with the excruciating dichotomy of human worth. A thriller whose philosophical underpinnings are never once abandoned, ‘The Absolute Threshold’ is a highly unusual, stylish work.

6.5/10 - That is a fair rating of this pretty good but not excellent novel. The story is entirely predictable but is fairly well written and has some good artwork. It is very much like an action movie, which you know will have a hero that wins in the end, and follows a pretty standard set of events. But it is very enjoyable to read, just as an action movie is enjoyable to watch. It won't change your life, but it will be good for a few hours of reading time. I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to read this, but I haven't regretted reading it. I'll probably come back to it every few months to read the new chapters that get added, but that's about it.

P.s. Not my artwork
I was just a nobody actor, killing time reading a trashy novel where the Omega side-character had my name. His only purpose? To be a disposable prop for the Alpha ML, a walking, talking disaster who gets his life ruined in 50 chapters flat. I hated him. I hated his pathetic weakness.
Then I died.
And I woke up as him.
Now, I'm that cannon fodder. I'm in the body of the fool I despised, on the eve of his public humiliation at the hands of the novel's god-like Alpha, Huo Yan. The worst part? I never finished the book. I know how I'm supposed to die, but I have no idea how this story ends.
My only guide is a faint voice in my head, a "Survival System" that gives me one simple, terrifying rule: Don't attract the protagonist.
So I have a plan. Be invisible. Be boring. Stay away from Huo Yan.
But I messed up. In one desperate moment to save my own skin, I did something unexpected. I showed a spark of talent the original "me" never had. And the Alpha, the man who should be looking at the female lead, is now looking at me.
His scent, a predator's frost, hunts me in crowded rooms. His eyes, dark and possessive, follow my every move. He cornered me after a gala, his voice a low growl against my ear. "You are not the Omega from the script," he whispered, his touch branding my skin. "You are a liar. And I will peel back every layer until I find the truth."
The plot is broken. The Alpha is obsessed. And my survival system is flashing red. I came here to avoid my death, but now I'm terrified I might just be the reason this story becomes a tragedy.

After transmigrating into a BL novel, she expects to become a forgotten side character and survive until the ending. Instead, she awakens as an SSS-rank Omega Guide, a rare Guide capable of calming dangerous Sentinels in the fantasy world of Elarion.
Knowing the original story, she understands one thing clearly: she must stay away from the five powerful men destined to become the central figures of the novel—the cold Northern Duke, the ruthless Crown Prince, the obsessive Grand Magister, the dangerous wanderer of the Forbidden Forest, and the Forbidden Saint.
They are not supposed to fall for her.
Yet fate begins bringing them together.
She meets each man in a different corner of Elarion, while every encounter slowly changes fate. What begins as curiosity gradually becomes attraction, protection, jealousy, and dangerous obsession.
Determined to remain independent, she travels through enchanted kingdoms, ancient ruins, forbidden forests, magical academies, and lands ruled by terrifying creatures while uncovering the truth behind her Guide abilities.
But something is wrong.
The events she remembers from the novel are changing. Characters destined to die survive. People who were supposed to live disappear. The system guiding her begins hiding information, and the five men seem to know more about her.
Then, the most mysterious of them all looks at her and whispers, “You finally came back.”
She has never met him before.
So why does he remember her?
As secrets surface and ancient magic awakens, she discovers that the BL novel may never have been fiction. Her transmigration, the five men, her powers, and the system are connected by a secret capable of destroying the world.
Now she must choose between following the destiny written for her or rewriting the story—even if it means becoming the obsession of five men who refuse to let her go.
Be aware that some of these “free” reading sites are very malicious. My friend recently got a nasty browser hijacker from one of these sites. It was a pain to clean up from, and it had a lot of pop-unders, fake download buttons, and even some redirects to phishing pages.
This means you must use private browsing, and even then be extremely careful – better open up a special browser which you only use for these shady websites and never log into online banking, shop etc. Even with a repulsive ad blocker like uBlock Origin, reading on these “free” websites is simply too risky for me.

Manga Psychologicum Horroris by Neuroscientist delves into the dark world of a researcher whose experiments started to mix up Reality with Perception. The Neuroscientist started to realize the presence of Beings on the edge of human sensory capacity, and to his surprise, these entities started to interact with him. As the Neuroscientist delves into the unknown, he questions his sanity while things start to get worse. The artwork takes up most of the burden in terms of oppressing the reader.
Also nice to follow the art evolution on this one. It really went up a notch from the first chapters to the current ones. From good to pure cinema. The artist must really care about this work as this kind of improvement only happens on long-term projects. A 10-chapter series isn’t long enough to improve this much.
