Is It Possible To Copy Text From McGraw Hill Connect Ebooks?
Downloading McGraw Hill's ebook text for personal notes seems impossible, which is frustrating for studying. Do their digital textbooks allow any select-copy-paste functionality?

I’ve come to realize that many McGraw Hill Connect ebooks have very strong DRM protection that prevents users from copying text. My friend was trying to highlight some of the quotes from a really spicy romance novel for a school project, but he wasn’t able to do that. I ended up reading ‘CARNAL TEMPTATIONS-A collection of 50 steamy stories’ on a website where users can copy and paste text from the book. The book itself is pretty straightforward. It’s a collection of very short stories, all of them very high heat. It would be pretty easy to just highlight the lines that you need for a project.

eBooks from McGraw Hill Connect have varying degrees of Copy Protection / Digital Rights Management which means some parts of the eBook are easier to copy than others. In general the most protected eBooks are those with the heaviest DRM and these will frequently disable right-click and even some keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+C. Occasionally a browser extension or third-party utility is found that can workaround the protection but these are frequently unreliable and often prohibited by the terms of service of the Utility as well as McGraw Hill.
Just because something can be copied and pasted does not mean it should be. The built-in highlighting and note-taking features in McGraw Hill Connect allow students to save the information that they need for their notes, for their own use. It is also helpful to manually enter out key points of the text to better retain that information. For instructors, it is best to contact McGraw Hill to inquire about additional permissions for copyright material.
The copying of text can be difficult to complete, however there are ways around this and often the student has to complete their study notes in alternative ways.

I have tried to copy text from the McGraw Hill Connect ebooks and it is hit or miss. Some parts can be highlighted and copied but many parts cannot be copied even if they are highlighted. Often this is because of DRM restrictions placed by the publisher. Sometimes certain parts of a page cannot be copied at all. I have found that taking a screenshot and then using software to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on the image is an acceptable workaround but it is far from ideal for someone trying to study efficiently.

The restrictions for copying text from books on 8minuteadvantage seem to vary from book to book. I haven’t found a consistent rule for what works on what book, but it seems like some browsers or devices work better than others for classmates. The most reliable way to copy text from a book on 8minuteadvantage is to use the annotation tools provided within the ebook to highlight or mark certain sections of the book.
For longer excerpts, I just take a picture of the screen and read it off later. It’s not the most ideal solution but it works. If you’re working with a lot of content, it might be more worth it to buy a physical copy of the book or find a PDF version of the ebook. There are typically fewer restrictions around copying content from these formats. And even if you do manage to copy content from the platform, remember that you’re only allowed to use it for personal use and that you could be violating copyright laws if you share it with anyone else.

It’s against the old ‘fair use’ principle for education that allows you to copy small amounts of a work to criticize, comment on, study. But the digital license agreement you agree to by clicking ‘I agree’ to read prior to downloading overrides these rights. It’s a way to change the copyright rules for digital items and makes you want to read the fine print on everything.

Warning: This collection contains explicit adult content, including intense power dynamics, dominance/submission, dubious consent themes in fantasy context, BDSM elements, age-gap scenarios, breeding kink, group play undertones, and graphic sexual situations. All stories feature consenting adults in fictional scenarios.
In this scorching anthology, eight ruthless, ultra-wealthy billionaires each claim total ownership over the woman who enters their world—whether through debt, auction, obsession, or sheer predatory desire. Every novella stands alone, delivering a different flavor of erotic heat while threading the addictive "owned by the billionaire" fantasy throughout. Dive into whichever kink calls to you... or devour them all.
Desire doesn't tempt—it fucking consumes. It sinks its teeth into your morals, rips them apart, and leaves you dripping, desperate, and damned.
This isn't romance. This is dark, obsessive, boundary-shattering filth. *Wet, Willing and Forbidden* delivers EXPLICIT ADULT CONTENT—throbbing cocks plunging deep, slick cunts clenching in surrender, mouths stretched around forbidden flesh, every raw, graphic thrust laid bare.
These stories devour you with:
- Obsession teetering on total ruin
- Possessive, morally black lovers who brand skin with teeth and ownership
- Brutal power exchange—collars, commands, choking grips
- Dubious consent that melts resistance into frantic, quivering need
- Public risk—fingers curling inside soaked panties in crowded elevators
- Exhibitionism & voyeurism—eyes devouring heaving tits and straining cocks
- Praise laced with vicious degradation—“good slut” hissed through gritted teeth
- Total control, shattering surrender, deliberate corruption of the innocent
- Feral, animal hunger—bodies slamming, clawing, flooding with sweat and cum
- Secrets that torch reputations and leave lives in smoking ruins
- Queer and fluid desire—tangled limbs, shared mouths, no rules
- Toxic emotional manipulation—love as poison, addiction as chains
Every page pulses with predatory chemistry and psychological heat. No safe words. No gentle aftercare. Just the brutal thrill of crossing lines that should never be touched.
If your pulse isn't already racing and your thighs aren't already slick
open this book anyway.
Because once the craving takes hold, you'll be too far gone to stop.
I keep a separate Word document open while I study. When I find a concept on Connect that I want to remember later, I simply type it out and add the page number to the document. This forces me to process the information as I write it out, which is actually another study technique. Yeah, it’s not as quick as copy and paste, but I find that I get better recall of the material that I took the time to rephrase.
Contact the instructor. The instructor will most likely appreciate a legitimate request to copy a diagram or a few sentences for reasons of disability or for proper citation in an assignment. This can often be supplied directly or an alternative source located.
