How Do Sasuke And Sakura Interact In Boruto Episodes?

I sometimes go back to a scene with Sasuke and Sakura, even when it’s in the middle of the episode, just to re-watch that short scene of theirs. Sakura teases him, examines his wounds, looks at him sternly. Sasuke in turn answers her in short but loaded sentences. But overall it feels like weathered compassion. Like two people who went through a lot of pain and suffering and prefer to behave in a reliable, uneventful way most of the time.

This relationship is used to anchor the rest of the characters. Often when Sasuke is off on a mission Sakura will vocalize the anxiety that most parents in the village would be feeling. His brief moments of domesticity are always endearing and humanize him in a way that his lone wolf persona doesn’t allow for. Of course how they parent together is really wonderful as well. Sakura encourages Sarada to express her emotions while trying to manage the day to day needs of the household, whereas Sasuke is more of a model for discipline and the kinds of tactics he uses. All in all their mutual respect and attempts to create a well rounded and loving environment for Sarada makes for some really wonderful family moments throughout the series. The silence between the two and the voice acting in these moments really conveys the genuine bond that they share and that is probably one of my favorite aspects of their storyline.

Sasuke and Sakura in Boruto are pretty steady, low-key, and realistic. While they are not featured in nearly half of the episodes of the series, their appearances and interactions are always meaningful and respectfully based on their pasts. Sakura often looks out for the family and steps up to deal with its issues, while Sasuke protects and helps Sarada in his own calm and usually word-sparse way. In short, Sasuke is the kind of dad who takes his kid out for training sessions, while Sakura is the kind of mom who takes care of her little one with her medical expertise and lots of love and support.

Their appearances are very sparse in Boruto but each time they do appear, it’s really meaningful. The biggest thing I get from their scenes is the warm smile they bring. If you want to see a realistic, grown-up partnership in anime, they’re a good example of that and I’m happy to revisit their scenes.

I just feel warm with Sasuke and Sakura in Boruto scenes. So much growth from both of them in those few seconds of screen time. So often it’s Sakura worrying about the mission Sasuke is on, as well as to take care of the household and to be a parent to young Sarada. But Sasuke returns that respect and protection in his own small ways, whether to playfully tease her or show a soft side with the others. Their trust in each other is just so palpable and never flaunted in cliche romantic scenes.

You also see contrast between their public persona and their home life. In public or in the heat of battle, Sasuke is your typical, stoic Uchiha. At home however, he can be your typical Sasuke Uchiha silent tea sharing, occasional training helping, agreeing with Sakura on things he knows best type of guy. The same can be said for Sakura who goes from being a strict, do as I say, medical-nin to a soft, loving partner to Sasuke sharing her candid thoughts and feelings with him of why he is being a certain way.

Even when Sasuke is away on his missions, I enjoy how respect is shown in their few scenes together. While their romantic scenes are few, they are handled wonderfully as the two of them can handle any situation together. Whether they are fighting side by side or dealing with a crisis, the two of them work as a pair to take care of the other as well as their daughter Sarada. I also really enjoy their interactions and little responsibilities that they share as a family, such as a brief conversation or a simple look at each other. It is in these moments that I find the most fulfillment rather than in some grand dramatic confession.
