I see a lot of love for the big names, but let me throw in a lesser-known one: 'Pushing Ice' by Alastair Reynolds (again, but it’s a standalone!). A comet-mining ship gets tasked with following a moon of Saturn that turns out to be an alien artifact accelerating out of the solar system. The story deals with the consequences of that decision over centuries, with relativistic time effects splitting the crew into warring factions. The physics of their trapped voyage and the mind-bending scale of the artifact’s purpose are brilliantly realized.
A lot of these recommendations are pretty heavy. For someone who wants a taste of the realistic-physics problem-solving but in a faster, thriller package, Michael Crichton's 'Sphere' (though deep ocean, not space) and 'Prey' have that vibe. For actual space, maybe 'Saturn Run' by John Sandford and Ctein. It's a near-future thriller about a race to Saturn, and the technical details of the spacecraft's design and flight are a huge, meticulously researched part of the plot.
For a military SF angle with realistic physics, try David Weber's 'Honor Harrington' series. The space combat is famously modeled on age-of-sail naval tactics, because with limited FTL sensors and weapons limited to light-speed, you get formations, broadsides, and tactical delays that feel both futuristic and historically grounded. The technobabble about impeller wedges and sidewalls is internally consistent and forms the basis of every strategic decision.
Vernor Vinge's 'A Fire Upon the Deep' and 'A Deepness in the Sky' play with physics in a super cool way. The universe is divided into 'Zones of Thought' where different physical laws apply. In the Slow Zone, where Earth is, FTL and even advanced AI are impossible. The realism comes from how societies and technologies adapt to these absolute, universe-enforced constraints. 'Deepness' especially, with its cycles of hibernation and relativistic travel, feels incredibly rigorous within its framework.
