Frieren is 158 cm tall in the manga and anime character profiles. This makes her somewhat shorter than most of her fellow adventurers. The detail fits her character design so far. If you want to read another story about an unassuming protagonist with immense power and a long history for this story, then there’s the web novel ‘Alpha Fenriz’. A legendary figure from a past time is forced back to this time to live in what seems to be a mundane life, and his true identity slowly bleeds into his daily life, creating an air of tension that is unique to this story.

I see that fan wikis etc. put her height at 145 cm (probably basing that on the anime’s character data or possibly a manga volume extra). I believe this figure is commonly accepted. It is one of those ‘details’ that is referenced in fan art of group scenes, with artists striving to get relative heights roughly right. I’d recommend to check the Frieren wiki or a reliable fan translation of the official guidebook for the definitive source on her height. I imagine that for the anime, the whole style guide would include measurements of all characters for consistency across all scenes.

I'm actually a bit of a nerd when it comes to the official profiles. According to the official character sheets that were published along with the Frieren manga, as well as the official anime website and the promotional booklets, Frieren stands at 153 cm or roughly 5'0" tall. It's a very small detail that, when viewed in the appropriate context, actually makes a big difference when it comes to creating an image of how Frieren might move through space.

Realizing how that number (153 cm) changes up my interpretation of various scenes where Frieren is standing next to her former comrades has been really cool. In the early parts of the story where Frieren is a tiny thing standing next to a whole group of tall, muscular men, her height also lends to her appearing to be small and powerless in comparison to them. While fans can compare and contrast Frieren’s appearance in various different illustrations of her and also the various scenes of her in the anime, (various angles, costumes, etc) her height can appear to be slightly different in each. For cosplayers and scale-makers who are trying to stick to the original characters as they appear in the manga and anime, it’s good to know the official stats for the characters in order to get them just right.

It’s so cute that they gave her a specific height and everything. In a story about memory and time and giving focus to so many miniscule details of the past, this is just a teensy little detail to keep her silent, non-questionalble power intact. I kind of imagine her to stand on her tiptoes in a crowd of people, dryly commenting on whatever it is she’s looking at while making sure everyone knows she’s there.

I pulled this off of the official anime site for Frieren: フリーレン (Frieren) / 身長:約145cm. So yes, Frieren is approximately 145 cm tall or so. This is the definitive word without purchasing physical art books. Note that they use “about” or “approximately” which gives the animators some leeway but for our purposes here, it is good enough. We have established a physical characteristic that will remain constant through her character design bible. Good.

Frieren is 153 cm (5'0") tall, according to the manga's official character profile and the anime staff list. I found this while browsing around a character's page on Google in search of references for a possible cosplay. It's good to know that this information is consistent across formats.

The real interesting thing about Frieren’s height, in relation to her age and her vast, centuries-spanning experience as an elf, is that she is incredibly short for her age as a human. And this is all part of her incredible charm, no? And, yeah, for anyone creating their own fan art of Frieren, or planning group shots with the girl, knowing that she is 153 cm tall will help you to figure out the proper proportions for her in your art. For those who are not familiar with the metric system, this translates to 5’0” – and can be a very useful piece of vocabulary when speaking of scaling costumes, etc., for other characters, or when ordering a wig and trying to decide between a few different different sizes. I generally end up drawing Frieren a little taller in action shots of her though, just because there’s a lot of energy in her stiff poses and they need a lot more vertical real estate to be properly captured.

How big are Azur Lane characters full size?

8 Answers2026-04-03
The size of the rigging is a narrative device. It can be used to isolate a character in a tragic, dramatic story. Or it can be used to make girls with quirky jobs working for Azur Lane look cuter. Therefore, the size is variable. It’s Schrödinger’s shipgirl: it’s both human-sized and warship-sized until you observe it in a specific story. As for the canon, it doesn’t give an answer because Azur Lane is a multiverse of interpretations across multiple media, with every story giving conflicting answers to the questions of how to represent shipgirls.

Are there official English translations of predatory marriage manga?

I see a lot of these kinds of books on apps, and they usually have a fancy dress on the cover with a scowling male lead. I've never really been tempted to read any of them, because I've assumed that they're all pretty much the same story. This one does look very pretty, so I might read the first few episodes for free, though. Is there one of these with a less insufferable female lead? A friend of mine is bored on his commute right now and I'm asking for him.

What is NTRS in manga and anime?

10 Answers2026-04-06
A tag I double-check before clicking on. Netorase or NTRS (for the English speakers out there) stands for consensual cuckolding, and since the ‘S’ in NTRS can get mixed up with other tags, I figured I’d clarify. The stories found within this genre focus on relationships where one or the other person gets off on their partner having sex with others, and thus we delve into the taboo topic and psychology of such desires. While you may not find any of this in mainstream shonen anime, you will find a multitude of adult-oriented fiction, often quite erotic in nature, which expresses the emotions of the characters more so than the act itself. Anguish, euphoria, confusion – however you want to feel it – is all displayed on the page, and can be quite exhausting to read, often relying on the reader to tolerate the author’s manipulation of emotions within a gray moral area. Myself, I have a complicated love-hate relationship with the genre. Some of the works are incredibly poignant, while others are simply crass attempts at shock value.

how tall is thorin oakenshield

The History of The Hobbit, a massive compilation of drafts and notes by Tolkien, does not give an exact height for Thorin but describes parameters for the Dwarves that are consistently adhered to throughout his work. In the early drawings by Tolkien himself of the Dwarves, they are depicted as being quite short. This is his authorial intention and so is the ‘closest’ to an answer for their height that we have. A film would perhaps choose to make the leader of the thirteen dwarves the tallest of the lot to signify his status. That would be a choice though, intended to serve the purposes of the film. Tolkien used prose to bring out the individual personalities of the dwarves in the book, so the ‘real’ height of the dwarves is that of the book, but the ‘effective’ height of them in films and plays is a choice that serves the medium’s purposes. Knowing the source material and the reasons for changes helps one appreciate a character’s transition from one medium to another.

What differences do junkzero manga and anime have?

8 Answers2026-01-31
One of the biggest differences is pacing. The anime only has time to adapt the first four volumes of the manga, which spans 12 episodes in total. Thus, it is extremely action-packed, but does not have enough time to create the sort of tension needed for a good story. For example, in the anime it only takes a few seconds to negotiate getting the core of the ‘Zero’ unit, whereas in the manga it takes much longer and is far more detailed. The negotiation takes place in the grimy and oppressive scrapyard city, and you are able to fully appreciate the scale of the setting. The anime has a great soundtrack, but that is about all that it gets right. Sometimes the soundtrack tells the viewer how to feel in a given scene, which would have worked far better had the manga used silence instead. The production of the anime suffered in a few places, especially in episodes 7 and 8, where the quality of the animation drops dramatically. The manga art is fantastic and consistent, however. If you have no time to read the manga, then the anime is a good way to experience the story first-hand. But for a fully immersive experience, the manga is far superior to the anime, with a pace that is more suited to younger readers, but with far more depth and nuance.

Does The Climber manga have an anime adaptation?

9 Answers2026-05-02
Man, 'The Climber' is one of those manga that absolutely deserves an anime adaptation, but as far as I know, it hasn’t gotten one yet. It’s a shame because the story of Mori Buntarou’s journey into the world of rock climbing is so visually striking and emotionally intense—it’d translate beautifully to animation. The manga’s art style by Shinichi Sakamoto is incredibly detailed, especially in depicting the sheer scale and danger of the climbs. I’d love to see a studio like MAPPA or Wit take a crack at it, with some dynamic camera work to capture those dizzying heights. That said, the lack of an anime might actually be a blessing in disguise. Sometimes, adaptations don’t do justice to the source material, and 'The Climber' is such a niche but powerful story that it’d need a team that truly gets it. Maybe one day, if the stars align, we’ll get a faithful adaptation. Until then, I’ll keep rereading the manga and imagining how those silent, tense moments on the cliffside would look in motion.

Some people get defensive when they hear that questions like this one are invasive. They might claim that the question is just curiosity or that it means no harm. But if it means no harm, then why do so many people feel uneasy or even bothered by this question? People feel uneasy or bothered by this question because it crosses a social boundary and the discomfort it causes can be a clue to that.

Is Overflow anime based on a manga?

6 Answers2026-06-20
Yes, it is. It is a digital web comic published online chapter by chapter. Indeed, the whole lifecycle of this series is digital: drawn on a tablet, published online as online chapters on a website, and now as a streaming anime. So, yes, it is a modern digital entertainment product. This affects style and pacing too. Short chapters of digital web comics can be read by scrolling quickly through pages. The anime of Suzoo Takuto’s work has therefore been composed into 8 minute episodes to facilitate the same quick and easy consumption of digital media on a phone or computer. So the fact that it's a manga-based anime means that it's a piece of digital media, and thus it has a lot of the same characteristics as the comic it's based off of. In other words, yes it's a manga-based anime. And by that I mean it was created for online viewing in short chapters designed to receive a large amount of clicks, and the anime is more of the same.

How tall is Dominic Toretto in Fast & Furious?

3 Answers2026-04-13
For those that don’t know, Vin Diesel is 6 feet tall. I’m assuming that’s how they’d measure up Dominic Toretto too. How tall he is doesn’t really matter. The guy must be able to bench press a refrigerator whilst delivering the speech about family. The Fast & Furious films are all about spectacle. That’s why Dom is how he is – a force of nature that you wouldn’t measure in centimeters. A tornado isn’t a thing that you’d measure in centimeters.
