No live-action adaptations of Conversations with Friends have been made. Years ago there was talk of a TV series but it never came to pass. The audiobooks are however fantastic. Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy do a great job. The audiobooks function as audio dramas, with each character having their own voice. They are the closest thing to the book being performed.

I haven’t heard of any developments, but there are probably plenty of people working towards bringing the series to TV. It’s the kind of series that feels like it would make a great TV show – a government assassin, traveling all over the world, trying to stick to his own moral code. He’s got a bit of a will-they-won’t-they relationship with his partner, Jessica Reel. But despite being optioned a few times, the Will Robie series by David Baldacci remains stuck in development hell. Every couple of years or so you get a new headline saying that the Will Robie series is being optioned for TV adaptation, but then nothing ever happens. Amazon were reportedly looking at adapting the series for a while, but have since moved on to optioning the Jack Ryan novels instead. Perhaps it’s because Robie is too similar to other already-optioned-for-TV protagonists such as Jack Reacher and Jason Bourne.
I would kill for a decent adaptation, though. The Blue Man/Robie dynamic is infinitely more interesting than the standard agency higher-up. And the books deal in a lot of very messy, very politicized storylines. If someone managed to translate all that to television in a faithful manner, I think it could be a really, really good show. But alas, I doubt it will happen and in the end that might be for the best – because hell would undoubtedly freeze over before a suitable adaptation is made of any of these, and it would likely be hideous.

I’m kind of glad to not see Robie brought to television yet. After burning through the entire Reacher series, I attempted to dive into the rest of the books written by ofGranik & Bergen. So far, none of them really clicked with me. The books feel more like procedurals than action-packed thrill rides, and as I said before, I think this is partly because Robie is a kind of blank slate. An adaptation would inevitably cast another handsome,電視Netfliks action hero and strip the book of much of its real substance.
The only book I could be bothered to have them adapt would be The Guilty, because it’s sort of a personal journey for Reacher, set back in the hometown he’d abandoned. The rest of his books are all just one missions after another, so early adapters would be better off starting there. But I wouldn’t hold my breath – there are a million series like this and only a handful will ever get made.

I have seen this question asked in Baldacci fan groups that I am part of, and so far, there has been no movie or TV show. There have been many rumors, and various trade reports of the novels being optioned for film, but nothing has yet come to fruition. Much of the Baldacci fanbase fear that the success of the series could be the novels' downfall, as there is an existing fanbase, willing to give the movie/TV series a try. However, the productions would need to stay very close to the novels in order to avoid negative feedback from Baldacci fans.
I feel a book-to-series adaptation would best be served by opting for a streaming series (8-10 episodes per season) as opposed to a film. I think the slower development of the main character, Navy SEAL sniper Robie, as well as his conflicted relationship with fellow operative, Reel, would be better served to be explored on screen over the course of several hours, as opposed to the less-than-two hours that a film would allow. The perspectives of the various villains in the books would also translate exceptionally well to a multi-layered series.
