I blinked - and then again - and suddenly both people who wore full black clothing were there, guns drawn, eyes scanning for more danger. Someone was calling my name. But I couldn’t move. Not a muscle. Not even a twitch. The last thing I felt was the strength in my legs giving out, the world spinning, and the edges of my vision filling with black dots before everything faded to nothing. 24th December 2025 ~A Day Later~ I woke up to the loud chirping of birds - definitely way too cheerful for whatever time it was. I just finished reading the last book when I started to write Descent for real! The title when this was still a draft was actually ‘Can’t Help Falling (In Love With You)’ because I was listening to the same song only the dark version at the time. But I got annoyed because I felt it was too freaking long to be a title. For a time, I settled calling the story "Fall from Grace" in my head but it still felt wrong... so when I searched for a synonym, the meaning of the word descent.. clicked; it feels like it perfectly sums up the entire plot.

We aren't going to build an empire, Julian. We’re going to build a Forest."

The glass reflected my silhouette back at me—calmer than I remembered. Stronger.

As I walked downstairs, Coop was already waiting for me in the living room, I noticed sympathy in his eyes for me, which made me swallow the lump formed in my throat. He gestured to follow him, and I did. He opened the car door for me and I stepped inside, I watched him get inside and start the engine. My mind was blank, my body felt numb and all I could do was watch out of the window and give up. All my life I have yawned for love and in return, I got pain and disappointment, I was strong back then but my life broke me. I want to hide from all this pain and save myself from the demons which threatened to swallow me whole, but there's no place in this world where I could hide from all this.
