In the Arms of the Enemy’s Brother
Roman spun me around, pulling me back into him, both of us laughing.
Then, at midnight, fireworks lit up the sky.
Bright colors burst over the sea, reds, golds, lighting everything around us. Everyone looked up, amazed. Roman stood behind me, his arms wrapped around me, his chin resting lightly on my head. The night slowly began to calm after that.
One by one, guests said their goodbyes, hugs lingering, promises to see each other again soon.
Eventually, it was just us. We stood on the terrace, waving as the last cars drove away, the soft sounds of the staff cleaning up behind us. And just like that, the celebration came to a quiet, beautiful end.
