A Guide Thicker Than Blood Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

Something else is going on. The pain was awful, like every tiny part of my body was screaming as I was twisted and changed against my will. It felt like who I even was was being violently changed inside me, in every little cell. I dropped to my knees on the hard, cold stone. I couldn't see anymore, and the whispers got louder and kept talking, like a chorus of ancient voices that felt a little familiar, telling me what was happening during this awful, terrifying process. "Awaken, child of the blood… the blood remembers its birthright… the mark will guide your path… the power will be unleashed… embrace your destiny..." Child of the blood? What blood? What mark? I don't understand any of this!

Chapter 2: The Feast of Blood The first thing Karina noticed when she awoke was the silence. It was a strange kind of quiet—an unsettling stillness that hummed in the air, thick like the pause before a storm. She blinked, her vision swimming as she tried to adjust to the dim lighting. Her head felt heavy, and her limbs—too heavy. Her body was stiff, the soreness creeping in from every angle. She was no longer in *The Velvet Throne*.

The Blood Within As Aria and Kael crossed the threshold of the temple, the atmosphere thickened — laden with dust, ancient blood, and another sensation… memory. The expansive chamber in front of them was unlike anything they had encountered. Pillars embellished with bizarre runes soared high into the shadows, their surfaces slick with dried blood. At the far end, a solitary flame flickered above an altar hewn from dark stone. The floor shimmered faintly, mirroring the dim light like a reflection of shattered spirits.

The pain rolled through me in waves, deep and hot and suffocating, starting from my chest and spreading outward until my fingers tingled and my knees buckled. I stumbled to the bed and collapsed onto it, breath already coming in short broken pulls. Then it got worse. My vision blurred and then sharpened in a way that made no sense. I could see my arms. My chest. My hands clutching the sheets. But underneath that, deeper, I saw something else. My blood. I do not know how to explain it without sounding insane. I could see it moving. Dark. Too dark even. Not the bright red you see in textbooks or movies. This was thick and shadowed, almost black, rushing through my veins like it carried weight

I gag for the metallic smell of blood still lingers on her flesh adding to my abhorrence of it. Her Beta Elriam delivers to me a cup of water that I take thankfully from her hands as I gulp it down speedily easing my sore throat. Once I am relaxed and settled Lumina guides me towards Deimos and Phobos. I grapple to pace steadily stumbling along the way for my being feels weakened overwhelmed by my aversion to blood. I sniff brushing my nose with the sleeve of the snug baggy sweater I obtained from one of the females who was kind enough to lend a few clothes to me for the past weeks.

Disclaimer: This chapter has blood and violence. Viewer discretion is advised. You have been warned. "Good you are successful in calling me I see. Now let me look at you clearly first since I could not see you clearly when I was in my domain." My body started to glow a red hue but it only lasted for a moment.

he asked, his presence looming over my shoulder. “Not yet. The code is layered. The blood only reveals the first level—the structure. The location must be in another part of the cipher.” I pulled my hand back, clutching my bleeding thumb. The act had been successful, but it left me feeling drained and exposed. The metallic scent of my own blood filled my nostrils.

“They were words written in this book before, but they disappeared. It is said that it is only your blood that can make the words appear again. I want you to let your blood make it appear" "Alright. Hold the book firmly with your two hands”. I did as Jade instructed, I held the book with my two hands. I watched her bleed herself. Her nails elongated and she came forward, she stretched her two hands to get the book, immediately her hands touched the book, her nails dug into my flesh and I felt dizzy at once, before I could register anything that was happening I passed out.

Given there was a cult here, that was always a concern to me at this point. The title read 'Details on The Vicious.' I recalled that term from Misty and Remus when I'd snuck out last time and listened in on their conversation. Yes, some sort of weapon, right? I placed my hand on the cover, and after a deep breath, turned to page one. Nothing of value, yet, given it was a bunch of acknowledgments and chapters. I made a mental note that this felt a lot like a textbook, but why? The introduction told me: 'Welcome to the comprehensive guide on why our species must be incredibly careful around delicate humans.' Clearly, this was a book meant for vampires, which made it all the more intriguing.

Chapter 41: A New Normal "A ghost who lost its sheet is remarkably accurate," Zeyric muttered, shifting slightly on the narrow infirmary cot with a soft wince that mirrored the dull ache still lingering in Thalen’s chest. "Though given that we nearly blew the entire administrative wing into the lower catacombs, I’d say looking like a ghost is a minor penalty."
