I still didn't get why they liked him. He was handsome, but well… I couldn’t quite get it. Maybe because he was my brother. Summer break was getting close in California, and there was something about the way the sun made everything smell that I loved. I had decided to spend June at my elder brother’s apartment before I resumed college. My brother, Davis, had moved out when he was nineteen and had been living alone ever since he started college. He was pissed off when I told him I was coming over, but what could he do to me?

The entire week passed just like that, and their summer vacation would start in the morning. “Anita, why would you drag us here?” Jazmine asked, shaking her best friend, who kept laughing like a maniac. The store that Anita suggested was a lingerie store. “You need some bathing suits. Don’t tell me you’re going to spend your summer in clothes? Right, Liam?” Anita said, jabbing Liam on the ribs. Jazmine whipped her head to Liam, who already looked away. She couldn’t contain her embarrassment in front of Liam. She wanted nothing other than digging a hole and jumped right into it.

A fireplace sat at the center of one of the neatly painted walls, for cozying up on chilly nights. The maid offered us seats while she went ahead to call Summer, Jeanette’s girlfriend. I can’t wait to meet her!!! Summer soon descended the stairs. She was tall and slender with short brown hair. Her eyes were as blue as the ocean which matched perfectly with her white skin. She was wearing a pair of light-colored jeans with a fitted t-shirt that complemented her figure. The t-shirt was tucked in at the front, completed with a pair of ankle boots. I watched as Jeanette ran into Summer’s arms, pulling her into a tight embrace. I stood there, watching the beautiful scene unfold.

“He’s gotta figure himself out. You deserve someone who’s all in, Abs.” “Preach,” Summer chimed in, pointing her straw at Abby. “That boy’s a total jackass. He needs to learn he can’t just keep stringing you along.” She took a dramatic sip of her smoothie, her eyes twinkling. “You’re way too hot for that nonsense.”

A smile crossed her lips, the details flowing and coming together in her head. “And what about timing? Before or after baby?” “Oh, this summer, for sure. If I could make that happen, call everyone home, get all our friends and Jacob’s family over here… Ugh! That would be absolute perfection!” The dreamy look on Jessie’s face was almost too much and Aiden couldn’t keep it a secret any longer. The absence of coolness from the air conditioning of the café made me feel awful for a split second. That’s like asking you to climb Everest without oxygen.” Before I can respond, a bright pink G-Wagon rolls up the driveway and stops right in front of us. The door swings open. Summer steps out in a tiny leather skirt and a leopard-print top that barely contains her tits. Her long blonde hair flows down her back as she pulls off her sunglasses. “Babeee!” She squeals, rushing straight at me. She leaps into my arms, wrapping herself around me like a damn vine. “I’ve missed you soooo much!”
