"My husband said I needed medical help, so he stuck me on the train and brought me in for a doctor's appointment, and I never left here again."
Meg twisted her face looking at her sadly. "Does he come to visit you?" inquired Meg.
"He never came," Sophia replied.
"Something may have happened," Meg suggested.
"Yes, it has. He got married," Sophia said.
"How awful," Meg lamented.
"He sent me a letter saying he had remarried to a wife younger than me," Sophia recounted wiping away tears.
"I'm sorry," said Meg.
"For what? My story is the same as Dorothy's and all the women here, including you," Sophia said.
