Chapter 3: A Second Chance Kayla opened her eyes quickly and cried out for air. Everything around her was spinning, and for a brief moment, she believed she was still in a horrible place. But no, this was not the same. The air was warm and smelled like cooked meat and flowers. She opened her eyes and surveyed the area. She found herself in the staff rooms of Alpha Luther's large property. From a tiny window, she observed the vast courtyard where the biweekly Alpha meeting was happening.

It still feels strange to hear the words out loud. “I’m Sabrina,” she says, holding out a perfectly manicured hand. “I work with Alexander. Well, indirectly. "It is still searching. What is she like, and what is her name?" "I am only answering so you would stop asking. Her name is Alix, and she is from the midnight pack. She is their late Alpha's daughter. I found her in New York when I went for a meeting, and I took her home. Now quit asking me any questions."
