The room fell into heavy silence except for everyone’s breathing. Rex looked down at me immediately. “What happened?” I stared at the unconscious wolf, heart hammering painfully. “I saw something.” Kaelen’s expression sharpened. “What kind of something?” I swallowed hard. “I think…” My voice shook slightly. “I think there’s another entity connected to the Axis.” Ash blinked. “Another?” “That one from earlier said it chose control,” I whispered. “But this…” My stomach twisted violently. “This felt different.” Rex’s hand remained firm against my back. The clone screamed, not in pain, but rage. Alexander staggered to his feet, grabbing a steel rod from the wreckage. “Hey!” he shouted. “You forgot something, me.” He swung with every ounce of strength left in him. The blow connected, shattering the side of the clone’s face. Silver fluid spilled like mercury. But AX-01 only smiled. “You can’t kill what’s better than you.” “Watch me.” Evelyn saw the warning too late. The clone moved in a blur, slamming Alexander back into the control unit. Sparks exploded as systems overloaded.

"Don't you recognize me?" Alpha Cupid leaned forward towards Axel and scrutinized his face. He tilted his head to the side and hummed. "Were you, perhaps, my customer before?" Axel chuckled. "Fuck off, man. It's me—Axel." His eyes widened in recognition, and he stood up from his seat. "Axel? From the Silver Raven pack?" Axel nodded his head. Alpha Cupid sat down in a much more relaxed manner, and the business smile he had on his face was replaced with a relieved expression.
