“It hurts so fucking bad… I need your cock right now. Please, Cazriel, make it stop. I’m burning alive inside.” The heavy, syrupy scent of his fertile heat and dripping slick slammed into me like a drug. My control shattered. Years of being the cold, emotionless killer disappeared in a heartbeat. My eyes burned into glowing amber as my wolf took over completely. I didn’t just want to help him. I wanted to ruin him — to pound that tight asshole until he forgot his own name, to mark him with bites and cum until he smelled like nothing but me, to knot him so deep and full no other Alpha would ever dare touch what I was claiming tonight.

AVA’s POV Something is wrong. Hunter shifted when he caught the alpha between his hands and attacked the alpha first instead of dodging. His eyes are sparkling with tears and I felt my heart clench. What is this? This strong, agonizing pain that made me want to kill myself suddenly swept through me. My own tears slipped away from my eyes and I began to cry. I can vaguely hear Syria screaming my name, but her voice sounds like it is getting farther and farther away, like I’m in a tunnel. I closed my eyes as intense pain burst inside me and my vision started to blur.

Drake spat in contempt at Hunter. I needed to get away from them. I felt trapped. Hunter growled in response to the taunt. He was about to shift. “Ignorant pup!” Drake sneered at Hunter, “Do you know who I am?” His wolf Lycus started surfacing, black hair forming on his scarred face. Those scary red eyes glowing with insanity. I feared for Hunter. “I do, you murderous coward.” Hunter snarled back at him, slowly circling the enraged Alpha. He moved lightly, like an athlete or a dancer. I stared, mesmerized. He was magnificent. Every muscle on his body was strung taught, ready to unleash.

Alpha Hunter and his wolf were both gorgeous and terrifying. The rogue underneath Alpha Hunter struggled to break free from the Alpha’s tight grasp. What I didn’t expect next was the sickening, crunching noise when the Alpha hunter stepped on its neck and broke it, left the rogue dead, and jumped into another. He was on a killing spree. Soon, the night was filled with howls of death and agony. "No, please stop." I cried silently as I covered my ears, not wanting to hear any more gurgling sounds of someone dying.

Ash hissed and kicked Alpha Titus's body, forcing a soft but audibly painful groan from his throat. I could see Hunter clench his fists, his knuckles whitening. For a moment, I wondered at whom his anger was directed. He was a wolf living among the vampires, and I couldn't help but wonder if his loyalty remained with his race. Yet then he looked at me, and his expression softened. "Are you OK?" he whispered, and I nodded. Surprisingly, I wasn't that bothered by what I saw. I even thought that those assholes deserved it. Was I simply getting used to the violence in the Dark Realm? Or was it the darkness that began to shadow a piece of my soul?

Eyes glowing gold. The wolf moves faster than anything I’ve ever seen. It crashes into the rogues. One screams as it’s thrown into a tree. Another lunges at the wolf, and it snaps him up in one swift motion. The air fills with snarls, yelps, and the sickening sound of claws tearing flesh. I stumble backward, shaking violently, covering my eyes. I can’t look, but I can’t look away. My entire body is frozen. The wolf spins, huge and terrifying, attacking without hesitation. One rogue flies through the air, hitting the ground with a sickening thud. Another tries to run, but it’s too late—the wolf catches him, and the last thing I see is its enormous jaws clamping down.

Alpha Hunter announced as he approached me. "Get away from us," I growled as I stared at him but he ignored me as he gripped my hair and dragged me away from Nic. I screamed and thrashed but he ignored me and the only thing which stopped him was a loud growl from Nic which made him turn back. "What Nicholson? You don't want me touching your mate?" Hunter mocked as Nic stood with the knife still in his chest. "Let go of her," he growled and his eyes turned a dark shade of red, almost like blood.

He nodded, already turning back to the fray. Enough! I shift back to Cece with a roar, the sound freezing every fighter in place. I shifted again. Back in human form, I snarled, “Leave. Now. Or my tiger finishes what I started.” The rogues hesitated—until their Alpha tried to ambush me from behind. How did I know it was him? Didn’t matter. One pounce. One snap of my jaws. Their Alpha is dead. The rogues broke. Dean lay bleeding, wolfsbane poisoning his wounds. His wolf was too weak to heal him. My mates barked orders—get him to Doc, now—but I knew the truth.
