“Hi, Aria,” said one of them, extending her hand. “I’ve been looking forward to meeting you. I’m Susan, and this is my wife, Emily.”
Emily rolled her eyes dramatically. “I can introduce myself, you know,” she said with a sigh, and then turned on her heel and walked away.
Susan flushed, looking mortified. “I’m sorry women, you know,” she said apologetically.
I smiled lightly, tilting my head just so. “Oh, I understand. I’m in a lesbian marriage too.”
