I knocked on Cassius’s office door at nine fifteen.
He was at his desk, a call muted on speaker, a brief open in front of him. He waved me in. I set the folder open and turned it toward him.
“I found three anomalies in the restructuring analysis. Consistent across quarters —doesn’t seem accidental. The routing on the second one threads around the quarterly consolidation structure deliberately.” I pointed. “Here, here, and here. The account they route to isn’t attached to any operational division on file.”
He read. Properly, without rushing. Asked two questions. I answered both without hesitating.
