It was the most basic unit of narrative structure. A container. The effect was not instantaneous enlightenment. It was like giving a child a set of building blocks after they had been drowning in a sea of loose sand. The frantic noise didn't stop, but it began to organize. The swirling "what-ifs" started to cluster around potential beginnings. The chaos began to seek a middle. The terror of infinity found solace in the concept of an end.
