Suddenly, in a flash, I saw a face that I will never forget in my life and now he is here for me. “NOOOOOOO!!!!”

Better take care of yourself and endure these things because it will be all worth it," I smiled at the end of my message before disappearing. In just a blink of an eye, I came back to that nowhere dimension. I only see black and small white dots everywhere. Then, a voice appeared again. "{What? Why didn't you kill yourself? Why did you change your mind?}"

Through the wide cabin window, the plane sliced through the clouds, and suddenly, I remembered that night from six years ago. Monica stood downstairs at my apartment, soaked to the bone in the torrential rain as she confessed to me.

I eat dinner with my family but wonder if we'll still be a family a month from now. Day twenty. One day left. I stand in front of the bathroom mirror and try to recognize myself. The man looking back is the same one I've been for three years, same face, same eyes, same carefully maintained invisibility. But tomorrow, everyone will see him. Tomorrow, he'll be real in a way he's never been before. Tomorrow, there's no going back. "Hey." Millicent appears in the doorway. "The article drops in the morning. Moira sent a final copy for review."

My heart fluttered at the sound, but I pretended not to hear it and continued walking toward the sunlit road. If there was a next life, I never wanted to see Shawn again.
