As if summoned by the name, the stronghold shuddered.
Not from impact.
From recognition.
Seraphina stiffened. “Do you feel that?”
Darius nodded slowly. “The wards just… adjusted.”
“That’s not possible,” Maera said sharply. “Those wards answer only to Alpha blood.”
Seraphina’s chest tightened.
“Or,” she said quietly, “to the Moon.”
They moved quickly through the corridors, but Seraphina noticed things she hadn’t before. Wolves passing them lowered their heads—not in submission to Darius, but to her. The stone beneath her feet pulsed faintly, warm, as though the mountain itself was aware of her presence.
