Took me forever to find shows that scratched that same itch for weird, found-family dynamics. Nothing else is exactly like 'Soul Eater' with its gothic camp and weapon-partner system, but the character bond focus is out there.

For something with that mix of intense, almost-codependent partnerships and supernatural school life, I'd say check out 'D.Gray-man'. Allen and Lenalee, or Allen and Kanda's rivalry-to-trust thing, hits hard. The aesthetic is Victorian-gothic-meets-apocalypse, so the vibe is there too.

If you want the chaotic, loud, bonded-by-trauma energy of Maka and Black Star's team, 'Fire Force' is from the same creator and has that. The bonds feel forged in literal fire, and the visuals are insane. It's more sci-fi than gothic, but the heart is similar.

The animation style even has a similar sleekness during action sequences, though the humor is a bit more front-loaded.

It lacks the 'partner' collectathon feel of 'Soul Eater', but the core of a living weapon symbiosis is totally there.

For something a bit older, 'Darker than Black' doesn't have talking weapons, but the contractors use incredibly unique and personalized abilities that feel like extensions of themselves, often with heavy personal costs. It's a colder, more spy-thriller version of unique power systems.

Honestly, finding the exact combo of gothic aesthetic, school setting, and weapon-person partnerships is tough. 'Soul Eater' really carved out its own niche.
