I smiled as tears filled my eyes, and I also whispered back, “ I love you” He smiled, “ I love you more”. Hey guys, so this is the end of Dante and Hakim's story. I know I ended it abruptly, but trust me, I had to. I have written the book for so long now that I might even forget the original outline. It was a small comfort against the sting in my heart. I typed back with a shaky hand, [Congrats, your dream's about to come true.] I tossed my phone aside and collapsed onto the bed, exhaustion washing over me. Sleep claimed me almost instantly. My dreams were a jumbled mess: Charles on bended knee, proposing, and then, in stark contrast, him cozying up to Fiona. In that hazy state between sleep and wakefulness, I felt a sticky suffocation. My eyes snapped open to Charles's gaze, dripping with feigned emotion.

I was beginning to tremble all over again and I suddenly forced my eyes shut. "Ah! There's that denial." Iñari teased. "You're finally face to face with your reality and you can't stand it. How pathetic." She clicked her tongue. "Just stop... Please." I whispered, still not able to open my eyes. "But I'm not doing anything. I'm basically taking away your illusions." Iñari chuckled, sending shivers down my spine. I suddenly charged at her, holding her by the neck and pressing her up against a tree. "What do you want from me?" I growled in her face, making a wide smile spread across her face.

Amber said to him in a tone she didn’t recognize as her own. She didn’t wait to see his reaction. Hoped she’d fucking hurt him as she pulled the hood down over her head. Instantly, she felt suffocated, plunged into a deep darkness. She couldn’t breathe! This was how it all fucking ended, not with a bullet, but in this suffocating darkness… Chapter 41
