By the time Ethan and I step out of the boardroom hand-in-hand, with our relationship declared, half the company already has it posted, reposted, filtered, captioned, and turned into memes. Kevin meets us outside the elevator looking like a man who has aged ten years in ten minutes. “Hailey… Ethan… the internet is— I don’t know how to say this but— the memes are disrespectful. Hilarious, but disrespectful.”

And now, the internet was having a fucking field day. Noah stopped pacing, long enough to grab his phone again, thumbs flying over the screen as he scanned the endless floods of comments on his innagram. I sucked my teeth, irritation clawing up my throat. “You need to stop reading that shit.” He snapped his gaze to me at that, and I’ve never seen such pure anger in his gaze. “Do you know what they are calling me? Have you seen the fucking memes they’ve started to make about me? I’ve spent my entire life--?”

Temperance Anxiety. My anxiety can go from one to ten in a matter of seconds. One minute I can be fine. The next, I'm on the ground shaking, trying to get the oxygen into my lungs. Anxiety is like a monster. It's a monster that doesn't go away. It's a monster that attacks you whenever it wants because it doesn't care about what you think. I say I need to go to the restroom for stomach problems. It's not the stomach problems everyone is thinking about.

I could fucking get sued for this! I back away from the bed, shaking. What do I do? My phone buzzes again like a relentless, angry bee on the floor. And like a zombie, I pick it up. Notifications flood in. A meme pops up. An old picture of me at my high school party, photoshopped, mocked, and trending. It's working. But underneath the shame, a tiny, stubborn spark of anger flickers to life. I tuck my hair behind my ear and enter the comments. Lewd comments about my body are getting massive likes.

Grabbing the vodka bottle beside me, I poured myself a glass. “Social media has erupted, with different posts mocking her, calling her dramatic and some saying she’ll crawl back,” the anchor went as different posts from X and I*******m flashed across the screen. "Some people have even begun placing bets on how long before she does. We do not know much on the news but let's just say… the memes are quite brutal on this—” The screen went black before she could finish talking. I turned to Mia, staring at the remote in her hand. She gave me a sly smile before throwing the device to the side and jumping on my lap.

Her mother replied throwing a salute as she walked up the stairs. "Good morning guys." She sent a message to the group. Zayne's POV "Is it only me who feels nervous about today?" He asked as he fixed his shoe lace. "I am so nervous if something surprising or unusual happens I can pee in my pants." Jason said buttoning his shirt. "Come on man. It should not be as bad as that." Zayne said waving Jason off. "You guys know I am not joking." Jason replied. "Well, as for me. My anxiety had reduced all thanks to meditation and words of affirmation." Jayden said.
