Caesar said softly, his voice full of admiration.
"Stop," Amaliah giggled, playfully shoving his shoulder, her cheeks burning with a blush.
Caesar grinned, unable to hide his joy. "I missed you so much I thought I’d die," Caesar admitted, his voice low and sincere. "I wanted to come back the same day I left."
"Why didn’t you?" she teased, a playful smile tugging at her lips.
"Because I’d have had to travel again, and I’d still miss you," he explained, a mischievous grin on his face. "So I stayed put, worked everyone to the bone, and came back a day earlier."
