The Cursed Alpha's Substitute Bride

The Cursed Alpha's Substitute Bride

Sable's first report arrived on a Tuesday, folded inside a merchant's shipping invoice. It was written in a cipher so dense it looked like a ledger of grain prices. We watched Kael decode it in the war room: Caius and I standing like statues, because watching Kael work a cipher was the kind of activity that didn't benefit from breathing, let alone commentary. He read the decoded text. Then he read it again. Finally, he set the parchment on the table face-up and pushed it toward us without a word.

A Second Chance

A Second Chance

Caesar said softly, his voice full of admiration. "Stop," Amaliah giggled, playfully shoving his shoulder, her cheeks burning with a blush. Caesar grinned, unable to hide his joy. "I missed you so much I thought I’d die," Caesar admitted, his voice low and sincere. "I wanted to come back the same day I left." "Why didn’t you?" she teased, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "Because I’d have had to travel again, and I’d still miss you," he explained, a mischievous grin on his face. "So I stayed put, worked everyone to the bone, and came back a day earlier."

Her Savior: His Obsession

Her Savior: His Obsession

With one swift flick of my wrist, I pry the locket open. Out falls a folded piece of paper. My heart skips a beat. How long has this been in here? Holding my breath, I hastily unfold the paper. It’s no bigger than a sticky note, roughly three by three inches with black penmanship on one side. Another code. There’s a jumble of letters written in one long line, followed by a quickly scribbled ‘3 x 6.’ “A Caesar box cipher,” I murmur to myself, recognizing the formatting.

Killing Game Quarter

Killing Game Quarter

"What's it mean?" "It has a variety of very rough English translated meanings, ranging from 'Punish', 'Penalty', and my personal favorite, 'Retribution'." Liam answered, happy to show off his translation skills. I silently took note of the translations, before looking at the paper a bit more closely. They seemed to be stapled into Ceáser's upper eyebrows, making me wince at the thought. I grabbed one of the papers, and gently pulled it up to see what could be under it… I wasn't ready for the sight I saw.

Hollow Throne

Hollow Throne

Permanently embedded in their succession structure. Demi sat down on the edge of the reading table. "Did Caspian know about this section?" "I don't know." "Did Lysander." "I don't know." "Does anyone " "I don't know." Nora closed the volume carefully. Set her hands flat on the cover. "The transliteration that's in general use stops at the second clause. This section is only in the original. Which means anyone working from the standard text wouldn't know it exists." She paused. "But anyone with access to the original would."

Tease Out The Truth

Tease Out The Truth

I wrote the corresponding letters in Atbash letters. “Atbash is formed by mapping an alphabet into its reverse. The first letter becomes the last letter. Letter A becomes Z, B becomes Y, C becomes X, and so on,” I said while decoding. A-Z B-Y C-X D-W E-V F-U ... “So, QWX, NIU would become 'JDC, MRF’,” I said as a sudden realization dawned on me.

Ruby Fridays

Ruby Fridays

Although I am stumped, unsure even where to begin in deciphering this cryptic message, I bore over the lines again and again, my eyes straining in the dim early sunset yet darkening light. Then, an idea occurs to me. The pattern of the letters, the repetition of every third symbol, it has the hallmarks of a Caesar box cipher. I remember reading about it — it was a simple substitution cipher where each letter is shifted a number of places, "Shit that's it!"

...... Never read a book well written like this before. Full of emotions, and surprises. The cliffhangers are just............ I don't know what to say aside from the fact that it's soooooo good! I'm happy I had seen this in the most popular stories section. Hope it will be on the front page next......

Esme: Tangled Love

Esme: Tangled Love

Caesar slowly walked to him as he spoke in an engaging tone, “ You refused to take part in anything I assigned you. You rebelled against my orders and you always interrupt my job.” “It was getting really bothersome and I had to do something.” He said as he walked around behind Marcus and rested his hand on his shoulder. “Not long ago—I discovered something.” He added as he leaned near his ear and whispered. Marcus eyes widened in fear as he felt his every organ halt at his whiepered words. Ceasar smirked before making his way to Lailah who was silently watching everything in confuison and curiosity. “ Eto vse iz-za neye, da?[Its all because of her right?] I don’t see anything special though”

A DRAGON TALE

A DRAGON TALE

, Dragomir took it from her hand, “I don’t know but I felt a pull to it like it was important to our quest. Just like how you feel with the stone calling out to you" Raisel nodded, “I understand but how do we decrypt this?” “This is some kind of language…let me see”, Dragomir sat on the floor and studied closely. They were still in the woods. After a while he spoke, “This is Romanian, just like Gigant”, he explained, “Rising… Raisel scribbled. “Rising to….it’s…former…reign? glory, yes glory”, he finished, “Rising to its former glory”

She's A Secret Agent

She's A Secret Agent

As she was going to write on her hand, he offered his hand for her to write on. Violet looked at him and proceeded to write the letters on his hand. She wrote the letters like this: OMC UEA CIT AFC NYH "I knew it!" She boasted, she was smiling from ear to ear while looking at Hugo's palm that she uses as paper. "What? What is it?" Hugo asked her. "It's a Transposition Cipher. It is a method of encryption by which the positions held by units of plaintext are shifted according to a regular system so that the ciphertext constitutes a permutation of the plaintext. That is, the order of the units is changed." Violet explained.

I just started and I'm really impressed with the writing qualities, everything is so neatly sort out and well written. I love the protagonist, she's uniquely structured, and the relationships between her and the other characters are interesting too. Can't wait to read more!
Shianne De Kock
I love how Violet profiles everyone she meets. There are excellent narrative descriptions and good quality writing. The chemistry between Violet and Hugo creates sparks from the very beginning. I cant wait to read more and see how the story unfolds. Highly recommended, well done author! 🥰
