From behind him, Aragorn appeared — but not as a baby. He stood like a radiant child of seven or eight, glowing with pure light. “You don’t belong to her,” Aragorn said gently, reaching for Elias. “You belong to the Circle.” Valeria snarled. Shadows slithered toward the boy, but Aragorn raised his hand and whispered words Elias could not understand. The shadows recoiled.
