Archer looked at me in surprise but nodded and hugged me to calm my nerves. Just then, three wolves appeared from deep in the forest. They were big, strong, and looked rabid. “It's them,” he said in disbelief. “It's the wolves from my vision.” Archer stepped in front of me defensively. “Run to the river; I'll distract them,” Archer said and it scared me. “If they do anything bad to you, I won't—” “Run, I'll be fine; I'm worried about you,” Archer said seriously. “Do it now!”

"Yeah. Going mad over a man they haven't seen just yet. I don't want them to know I talked with Archer or they'd hound me to death." "Archer?" "I thought you weren't interested?" Anna moved her eyebrows up and down with a teasing smile on her lips. Selah rolled her eyes. She's not that interested. But the mention of the man's unique name somehow piqued her curiosity. "Well, yes. Archer Evans. The man who can definitely pierce you with his eyes. A literal archer. And he lives with Mrs. Terry's bungalow." Exaggeration, perhaps. That's how Selah saw it. "Morning classes are about to start. Let's walk faster."

Archer’s hand tightened around mine, his expression dark as he tried to pull me away from Lawrence. But Lawrence wasn’t done. His voice took on a somber tone as he looked between Archer and me. “Both of you will encounter many obstacles before you gain freedom. I wish you two a long and fulfilling life.” Archer didn’t wait for him to finish, already dragging me away. “Archer! You’re rude…” I whispered, my voice low so only he could hear. He glanced down at me, his eyes hard. “Lawrence is a psycho. Are you really going to waste your time and energy on his bullshits?”

I call out, rushing towards him. He turns at the sound of my voice, and in an instant, he’s there, grabbing me and pulling me into a tight hug. I feel his heart beating fast against mine. “I’m okay,” he whispers into my hair, his voice rough and strained. “I’m okay. But Archer… Archer was shot.”
