Chapter 40: Snow ARIEL'S POV I leaned against the bathroom door, watching with a smile as Ravenna carefully bathed my cat, like a mother who’d tended many children. She had started by helping it get used to the water, dripping just a little on its paw and coat. Then she trimmed its long nails with gentle precision. "You'd make a good mother," I commented at last, relieved that she hadn’t spent the time prying into my outing with Alpha Viktor. Instead, she’d poured all her attention into pampering the cat like it was royalty.

I replied. Ariel growled again and this time I started to laugh. “Sorry, but maybe Troy wasn’t wrong. It’s a cute growl though. It suits you.” Ariel shook her head. “I can’t believe it. Why would I get a mate? If the Moon Goddess exist she would hate me and would never give me a mate. And Troy. He would be stuck with me? Is he a bad person?”

But no matter what, Auria has yet to show herself to the public, she has yet to make a statement about the situation. She has yet to check in with Azrik and Jack, so the two concluded that it is better if they check on her. “Miss, Mr. Tevyat and Mr. Morcov are here to see you.” The maid said as she knocked on the door. they heard nothing from inside, they heard nothing from Auria. only a piece of paper was slid under the door gap. “This is how she communicates now,” the maid said. She picked up the paper and read the writings aloud. “Tell them to go away. I do not wish to talk to anyone right now.''The maid showed it to the two men, who had different reactions.
