A moment later, a logo popped up, along with the words “The Island.” A British male voice started speaking, but the camera didn’t show the narrator. Instead, it showed scenes that looked like something out of a hunting show to start with. As I listened to the narrator recapping the last episode, one of the images featured a slightly overweight man grappling with a shorter black woman. He held her down, forcing her onto all fours before climbing on top of her.

He was propped up on some pillows to cradle me but this was still just awkward. I looked out past Ryan at the dark ocean and let the breeze caress me. We were on a private island somewhere in the Caribbean, and if anyone was watching us they were likely getting a full show. Nate had already gone down on me by the pool, and I was certain anyone in a mile radius heard that orgasm. The guys had gotten some weird notion that we couldn’t have sex for a week leading up to our trip, to try and make it that much more intense. “Ryan, ohhh, ohh yes! She said enthusiastically. “A cave?” Although he had been on this island for months, Martin hadn’t been exploring the island this thoroughly. There was a cave? People could swim in a cave? But again, he never really ventured far from the villa, and he never wanted to, he had work to do, and that always took the top priority.

“It's done, sir. Everything has been prepared. We just need to get going.” Richard nodded and quickly pressed the button to get the partition back in place. Yusman started the car. Arini sat comfortably beside Richard. “You just sleep, sweetheart. The bench is tuned to make you comfortable,” Richard said later. “I'll wake you up when we get there.” “Are we going to Ancol?” “We're going to Tiger Island, darling.” Arini had no other vocabulary but to squeal with excitement. “Yesss!!! That's really nice of you. I've never been to that place before. Thank you.” She immediately rushed into Richard's arms.

She groaned, then stirred awake, sitting up slowly. The boat slowed as the boatman moored the vessel against a weathered wooden wharf. Araheen rubbed her eyes, squinting through the mist. “I don’t see an island,” she murmured. But as soon as the words left her lips, an outline took shape ahead—shores, dark trees rising like shadows. Both she and Hedda gasped. “This is why it is called the Blinking Island,” the boatman said. “Step ashore. I must leave quickly.”

Arin said, pointing to the center of the lake. Sela squinted. Through the mist, she could just make out a small, dark shape in the middle of the water. An island. A single, gnarled tree stood on it, its bare branches reaching for the grey sky like skeletal fingers. “How do we get across?” Leo asked. The water looked deep and cold, and there was no boat. “We don’t need to,” Arin said, his eyes scanning the lake’s edge. “Look.”

"You should be careful. It's been dangerous lately—gunshots echo from the island now and then. I never go too close." Aria nodded. "Thank you." Moments later, the boat bumped against the dock. "We're here." Aria leaped ashore in one swift motion. "I'll wait here," the fisherman offered. "If no other boats pass by, you might be stranded." Aria smiled. "Okay. I'll pay you extra when I return." She had barely taken a few steps when a strange sound reached her ears—three long tones followed by two short ones. It was the signal Tobias had taught her.

He grabbed her side and clutched her tight. “What is it?” she asked again. “It's a ship. The embargo over the island has been shifted. It's no longer an invisible island”, he announced and she gasped. “Really? Which means the curse is getting broken even more? Oh my God! Do you know what this means, Dakar? We can leave here. You can finally go home!” Avril squealed and jumped on Dakar in a hug. He chuckled and pulled her down. “I doubt it's that easy. But let's go and check”, he said and grabbed the basket of arrows.

I close one of my eyes and took a deep breath. I gladly let go of the arrow and smiled as it blossom on the guy's chest. He momentarily stopped his car and got out, only then did I see that the arrow was halfway buried on his chest. He hopelessly look around until his eyes landed on a blonde girl, shielding herself from the rain with a book held tight, positioning it on top of her head.

"Get the flare launcher. Now, Ariana!" I turned and ran toward the raft, my feet flying over the sand. This was it. The radio, the kit, the ship—the island was finally letting us go. Home, here I come!
