Damien’s Beta stood among them, eyes cold. “Loose!” he shouted. Arrows rained down. “Shields!” I barked. Our front warriors raised forearms and weapons, blocking what they could. Metal rang, wood splintered. One arrow flew for the head of a young Frostveil wolf to my left. Isabella moved before I could. She grabbed his jacket and yanked him sideways. The arrow that would have gone into his eye sliced across her upper arm instead. She gasped, stumbling. Blood sprayed, bright and fast, down her skin.

“Everything. Now… it’s time for us.” ⸻ A private jet awaited them at the edge of the city. Elara felt a spark of excitement from Fen, but Aero radiated nothing but calm. The pilot, an old friend of the pack, greeted them with a nod. “Everything’s ready. Your destination?” “Our island,” Aero replied simply. “Just us. Peace, safety. No interruptions.” As the jet lifted into the sky, the city disappeared beneath them—the houses, the streets, the shadows. Only the endless blue of the ocean remained, vast and inviting.

Cara stepped off the supply boat onto the narrow dock and the wind immediately whipped her hair across her face. The island felt smaller than the photos suggested. Eleven acres of rock and grass and one tall white tower cutting into the grey sky. She adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder and looked up the path. Eli Marsh was waiting at the top.

“I recognize you. You’re on the footage from that show.” Once again, I forced my expression to remain neutral. I wasn’t going to reveal that I was slightly uncomfortable having been recognized for my appearance on “The Island.” “If you know who I am, you can guess why I’m here.” “The Row-so girl,” he said, mispronouncing her name slightly with his heavy accent. I nodded, crossing my arms over my chest. He shrugged a beefy shoulder and nodded at the other two, who put away their guns. “Come with me.”

He was propped up on some pillows to cradle me but this was still just awkward. I looked out past Ryan at the dark ocean and let the breeze caress me. We were on a private island somewhere in the Caribbean, and if anyone was watching us they were likely getting a full show. Nate had already gone down on me by the pool, and I was certain anyone in a mile radius heard that orgasm. The guys had gotten some weird notion that we couldn’t have sex for a week leading up to our trip, to try and make it that much more intense. “Ryan, ohhh, ohh yes! “It's done, sir. Everything has been prepared. We just need to get going.” Richard nodded and quickly pressed the button to get the partition back in place. Yusman started the car. Arini sat comfortably beside Richard. “You just sleep, sweetheart. The bench is tuned to make you comfortable,” Richard said later. “I'll wake you up when we get there.” “Are we going to Ancol?” “We're going to Tiger Island, darling.” Arini had no other vocabulary but to squeal with excitement. “Yesss!!! That's really nice of you. I've never been to that place before. Thank you.” She immediately rushed into Richard's arms.

“Step ashore. I must leave quickly.” “You’re not coming with us?” Araheen asked. He shook his head. “I’m only here to bring people in and out of this place. I cannot set foot on the island.” Araheen opened her mouth to ask more, but he had already turned away, preparing for his departure. She and Hedda gathered their small packs and stepped down onto the wharf. She narrowed her eyes, waiting for the island to sharpen again through the haze. She saw no people, no animals, no structures—only the heavy silence of the jungle looming ahead.

Arin said, pointing to the center of the lake. Sela squinted. Through the mist, she could just make out a small, dark shape in the middle of the water. An island. A single, gnarled tree stood on it, its bare branches reaching for the grey sky like skeletal fingers. “How do we get across?” Leo asked. The water looked deep and cold, and there was no boat. “We don’t need to,” Arin said, his eyes scanning the lake’s edge. “Look.”

"There is only one way to find out. Let's go!" Dragon Island's map
