“Freedom. Raine. Your perfect, pureblood future.”
He stares at me like he doesn’t know whether to snarl or grab me.
“And all I want,” I add softly, dangerously, “is to stop feeling like I lost a game I never agreed to play.”
For a moment, the world holds its breath.
Then Ashton laughs—short, harsh. “You think this makes you noble?”
I grin, all teeth. “No. It makes me done.”
I turn on my heel, fire humming beneath my skin.
