A low, breathless moan.
Then another, sharper.
“Harder,” Mona whispered. “Don’t you dare get soft on me now.”
I froze mid-step, wondering when she left the gathering.
The side lounge. The curtains weren’t fully drawn. I should’ve kept walking. But something in her voice was familiar and wicked, which made me stop.
The fabric shifted with the breeze, just enough to open a sliver of sight.
Mona was pressed up against the sideboard, her dress hitched obscenely high around her hips. Her hands gripped the edge like she was holding herself together.
