Athena's POV I had completely forgotten about Dante’s presence beside me. I turned to him with a pretentious smile and assured him, “It’s nothing to worry about.” He didn’t look convinced so I went further to say, “It’s the trauma I suffered in the vampire kingdom. I haven’t gotten over it.” His worried expression dissolved into compassion as he hugged me. I had to lie. I was an omega after all. No one wanted to have anything to do with us.

Ava pulled away quickly, her face losing color. Venom turned away from me. I could tell by his rigid posture. He felt guilty. Ava's POV I had come to tell him of father's proposal but the sudden urge to feed overwhelmed me while talking to him. I dashed out of the study room and bumped into Anna, I pushed her out of my way. The urge to kill and drain blood heightened inside of me. She fell on the floor and I heard Skye calling out to me but I didn't oblige to him. This sudden hunger that had started while I was at the crescent pack house was consuming me.
