Her name was Marina. Marina was a happy, joyful siren, with a great love for singing. In her free time, she loved to go and play with the animals of the ocean, and she was always willing to help those creatures who were in trouble. In all these aspects she was like any other siren in the ocean, but her charms came with an important detail that made her different to others: she was naïve and innocent, so she was unaware of the risks that existed beyond the surface of the ocean. Her dad had gifted her this book last year and since then, Alina became obsessed with the lore of mermaids. The book followed the story of a mermaid who was travelling all the seas in search of her pearl. On the way, she made many friends and even defeated monsters to achieve her goal. The mermaid in the book was named Alya and she became Alina’s heroine.

Greenish grains of sand-fireflies flashed on the sponges. Erida touched the laces encircling her thighs, and they slid like snakes between her fingers. Pulling on the tip of the tail, the queen exposed her all while itchy flipper-legs, revealing ink-black scales. This cunning outfit, which creates a full-fledged mermaid look, was given to her by her aunt after her niece returned from the depths of Sombra.

In her hands was a large snail shell, its surface glistening faintly. Rhea’s eyes narrowed. “Why are you holding that?” “It holds my secret,” Mermaid said, placing it into Rhea’s hands. “Take it.” Rhea nearly snatched it, suppressing a victorious grin. A floral pattern laced the breast plates to my stomach. Staring at my reflection, I could only think of one thing, my mother. The way she'd brush my hair and sing a little lullaby for me. Everything was perfect until her illness, then everything changed. Elaine stepped into the picture and ruined the little memory I had of her.
