My father told me the day would come when these half-breeds thought themselves men. Today, we remind them of their place.” His captains cheered half-heartedly, though their eyes betrayed unease.

"I beg your pardon?" the King regarded the barbarian with confusion. " Umm...King William, he is the Hadar of Barbarians, Ryker," I hastily pulled my hand from his gentle grip and turned slightly towards Ryker who still had a muscle in his jaw ticking. Surprise crossed William's features. "A barbarian?" he sized Ryker up with a look of disdain. It was clear he disapproved of his presence like every single person here. " A barbarian," Ryker stepped towards him, dwarfing him more, and repeated with a hint of danger in his tone.

No one answered and there was no sound apart from the unending noise of The Unbidden Army down below. “Is there anyone coward enough to choose the losing side and walk away from me?!” he boomed, looming closer to them. Gia and Cynthia were right behind the masters of the Vrek Cult on the second row but they got the urge to cower away as The Baron advanced. “I am the greatest! I am most victorious! I will win this war and prove that destiny can never be denied even when it is stolen!” he bellowed. Gia held her breath. What was The Baron talking about?

Who was she? “Turn around let me look at you?” Shira turned sharply at the sound of the rich deep voice, that she almost tripped, if not for the powerful hands that steadied her. The eyes that bored hers were not kind, but they were not cruel either. They were cold and calculating, they scared Shira. She stepped away from his arms. “I’m Baristan –” he extended a hand. “And please. Forgive the barbarism of my males.” Withdrawing his extended hand, he walked instead to her back and untied her.
