I just couldn’t shake it.” He says while yawning. “Was she at least pretty?” I ask him, “Gorgeous, long brown hair and wearing a blue dress.” I laugh. “Maybe it’s a sign that she is your mate and waiting for you wherever the signpost is directing you to?” “Nah, I have never heard of Mountain Creek Pack, but I would happily take her as my mate. She was stunning.” He says while wiggling his eyebrows. “Kids.” is all I can say.

Third Person's POV Atticus and Harris walk into the backyard and are immediately greeted by the loud joyful sound of children playing throughout the backyard. There's a large bounce house where half of the kids are playing, and the other half are taking turns riding on the large bear. The children giggle as they chase behind the bear that's larger than an Alpha wolf. Beast is incredibly large and scary, but he carefully moves through the backyard with the children closely tagging along beside him. He's anything but scary to the children. He's the gentle giant as Mark calls his mate.

Beauty Kendall frowned. “You’re not going.” “I have to.” “You know it’s a trap.” Jack smirked grimly. “I’m counting on it.” Eastbridge Park was deserted by the time Jack arrived. She was telling me something. It was like she was reciting a script. “I hope I don’t have to tell you that if you tell anyone about me, your loved ones will pay.”

Her eyes flick to the tray of food I still haven’t touched. “It might be your last meal,” she says, flat. Unblinking. She looks drained. Like her soul’s been scraped clean. “You can never really know what Zeke wants,” she mutters. “He’s one of the real monsters. What he did today was nothing.” The food still smells good. My stomach growls loud enough to echo. I feel the hunger deep in my bones I pick up a fork. Take a bite. It’s not hot anymore, but it tastes like survival. The second bite is even better. I don’t stop.

Ben was in my third period English class, which was great. If there were any creeps in there, I hadn’t met them yet. Fourth period, I had choir. Raven was with me, but she is an alto, and I’m a soprano, so we couldn’t sit next to each other. One of the Parkers was in there, too. I have no idea which one, but I know he’s a Parker because he looks just like Brice and Billy, just not as old as them, and maybe not as angry at the world. The fact that he was laughing and carrying on with a couple of other guys makes me think they are probably dark wolves, too.
